Bungie has released the first update for Destiny 2, and all players flock back to the Dreadnaught. Xivu Arath, the Hive God-war, stirring it up, and the Wrathborn Hive are on the prowl. The article from the Bungie Twitter account said a lot but very vaguely-Xivu Arath certainly has the pedal to the metal, and our Guardians have to reply before it gets out of hand.

So what’s good? The Dreadnaught, that huge Hive megaship that Destiny 1 got to lead for a short time, has again come on stage, and Xivu Arath’s minions are trying to pull it back again.

It’s now calling for players to jump into The Nether (yes, there is now such a thing) and hold off against the Wrathborn. If you have been dissing Destiny 2, then maybe this could be the call-up for you.

How odd there are no replies to the tweet- usually, Destiny’s community would swarm right here. Maybe they’re just too busy loading into the game to throw a reply in?

Or maybe right now everyone is shell-shocked from the fact that Xivu Arath has finally made a move? Either way, this unusual silence seems…well, suspicious.

Just for the record: Xivu Arath is one of the three Hive siblings, along with Oryx (RIP) and Savathûn (who’s been playing with us for ages). She concerns war, destruction, and of course, wrath, hence Wrathborn. If she digs her claws into the Dreadnaught, it will then be quite the tough road ahead to keep her aggression at bay.

It is also interesting in that, with the Lightfall expansion fresh in our memory and The Final Shape hanging above us, Bungie is clearly building up to something big here.

This Xivu Arath invasion motion is probably just a precursor to an even larger event; one that perhaps connects into whatever is next for the Destiny saga.

If you’re a Guardian, now is the time to check back in, dust off your favorite loadouts, and prepare for an all-out throwdown. Wrathborn won’t pull this off for themselves, and Xivu Arath is definitely not backpedaling.

Let’s see how long it will take before the community starts throwing in some crazy theorycrafted lore implications for this event; you know that’s coming.

No replies yet, but just wait an hour. The moment someone discovers a hidden exotic or the trigger to a secret mission, Twitter’s gonna blow! In the meantime, eyes up, Guardian. The Dreadnaught is waiting.
