Blizzard really dropped a bomb—Next WoW expansion of the Worldsoul Saga is being revealed at Gamescom 2025. The announcement came to us in the form of a cryptic tweet from the official Warcraft account, referencing a barely-known MIDNIGHT REVEAL that contained links to further information. And… the WoW community managed to collectively lose their minds over it.

So what in the world are we talking about here? The Worldsoul Sagas seem to be shaping up to become the next big arcs of Azeroth lore, and the player base is going absolutely crazy speculating about what’s coming. Some believe them to be Titan-related, while others are dead set about the return of Sargeras (thanks to some hardcore dreadlord theories), and a handful are just wishing for more player housing. Just a typical WoW storm.

However, the others are not as welcoming in the community. One player discarded the whole phenomenon of exclusive WoW expansions as “like getting back together with an abusive ex”-harsh words to probably express their disdain towards retail WoW. Meanwhile, others are begging for console ports, Game Pass integration, or any clue-log that does not feel like it was designed for 2004.

Meanwhile, the High-Elf gang continues to light virtual candles in replies just like a shrine. Of course. Meanwhile, the PvPers are loudest with their demands for world battles, and the addon guys want Blizzard to stop breaking their UI with every patch.

Oh, by the way, the Plunderstorm inquiry was put forward. No answers yet, but trust us, Eiji, we feel for you.

What is the bigger question here—is the baddie this time? After the cosmic-level threats in recent expansions, players want to know if Blizzard will ever tone it down to something grounded or if they will find themselves actually battling the very concept of time itself come 2026.

Can’t wait for Gamescom 2025. Until then, candle lighting and copium refills are a must! Azeroth’s next chapter is here, with or without our approval.
