There has been much research into the overpriced Phaseguard bundle introduced by Riot Games in VALORANT. The Phaseguard Bundle covers the Ghost, Vandal, Outlaw, Bulldog, and a Knife. Colorful animations and the equally outrageous price have divided the community. But are they really worth those three S’s or the Vandal-pay?

First and foremost, the Ghost is garbage. The Warlock and Mellow called it “godlike,” and it is the “only worthwhile purchase” in the bundle. Reloading? Ridiculous. The blue variant? Chef’s kiss. But the bad thing is $30 for a Ghost alone? Many gamers are beginning to question Riot’s pricing. Drew put it well: “Theme is kinda confusing… finisher randomly changes everything to groovy 70s pattern.” Like, what?

Let’s move on to the Vandal. Others, such as CMunii, called it the best vandal ever and praised its random style grips to keep things interesting. Yet another opinion had Yael saying it’s overrated. And just don’t get into the Outlaw and Bulldog fights: words were volleyed left and right: basic, garbage, waste of VP.

Finisher? Oof. Collin called it cheap and a big blarge of color; others said it was laziness compared to another bundle. “This bundle is more expensive than the Kuronami bundle,” blao131 continued. Ouch.

But some dissident voices attempted to redeem it. Bestiaal1 maintained that it lived up to expectations, and Fireonfergal commented that the Ghost has one of the top three sound designs he has ever heard. However, the overwhelming opinion: Pricey, overrated, and some-one from Mumbai, Rohit—for instance—is downright invisible: “Haven’t seen a single guy use this.”

So, what’s the verdict? Ghost mains go for it! Otherwise: Save your VP. Something shinier (hopefully less confusing) is likely to hit soon given Riot’s tendencies.

And let’s be honest—if your mags are finite and your kill count zero (shoutout to alanwakey), no skin is going to help you.
