Since the war of the community, which can somehow, is about the new map, Riot Games just provided a new reminder regarding the VALORANT map. Some are saying it is meant for Team Deathmatch, while others swear it’s a competitive map. A teaser along with an image was released with this tweet, but with no mention on what the map would be used for; what followed were tons of angry spats in the replies. There was much heated name-calling in fact!

At first, the visual style brought out mixed reviews. Anıl The Popstar said it was ugly, even questioning who thought the orange and gray color scheme was a good idea. Another player said it reminded him of Haven and felt similar vibes. But beyond aesthetics, the real debate is whether this is a TDM playground or ranked battlefield.

One of the first to state, or rather infer, that it’s a TDM map was Guro Daljord Bø. She claimed that the layout does not scream “competitive.” Pascal Brouwer responded with a shot of what appears to be a bomb site outline and claimed it must be for comp. Andrea Cristaldi went further, adding that the plant zone markers are unmistakably clear. Still, the confusion is for real, with a couple of replies outright asking, “Is this for TDM?”

“Reminds me of a dogshit payload map from Overwatch 2: high ground struggles and all,” said grayson, followed by another commenter saying, “It looks like Dust 2 from CS:GO,” which could very well be both sorts of backhanded compliments.

Then there’s talk of skins, for how else would a VALORANT topic ever unfold. Stutter said, “About those bundles,” followed sarcastically by, “Phantom-focused, or Vandal-focused?” Akshat Rana responded, saying it is going to be for Vandals, as the previous one was for Phantom. Meanwhile, KPrestine_ did not seem impressed with a new map, saying, “More content from the devs based on fan feedback.”

It brought the usual Twitter haters along. Clever Name Podcast have amused themselves by ridiculing those that will still be investing their time in VALORANT in 2025. Proxi shot them back, calling them obsessed just for commenting. Classic Twitter drama.

Now, what is the verdict? Until Riot steps out and clarifies, all we do is speculate. But if those bomb site teasers are real, then maybe the ranked guys could be looking at a new playground soon. Either way, those buzzes (and fights) won’t be dying down anytime soon.

What about the release date? Still unknown. One of the replies joked that they “forgot about it,” which… mood. But with the leaks coming, it’s probably closer than we think. So between lineup practicing or TDM spawn trap practicing, time to pick a side!
