Nintendo would like to remind us all that Toadette is still holding down icy walls with some serious style in that Soft Server outfit, and this one has got to be appreciated as some classy Winter Classic skating. The snippet shows her strutting some moves in a P Switch mission, just to remind everyone how irresistible Mario Kart World is to its players. Even though the gameplay looks like smooth butter, the reactions take a turn for the worse.

Firstly, here is the clip: Toadette and her pastel Soft Server drip make it look easy wall-riding. The physics in Mario Kart World have always been too rigid or too loose, but to see her glide over the icy surfaces? A real class act. The tweet links to the official Nintendo website with promises of much content to come, but players have other weightier matters on their minds…

Like, online mode. Or more aptly, its present condition. The replies are rife with demands, one user stated plainly, “Pls fix online, we want to play 3 laps.” “Stop killing 3 lap courses! We don’t need a linear track that is the length of Sonic Forces level,” says another. Ouch!

The very discussion of the last update. Some are basically begging Nintendo to just throw it all back, “This game had ‘a chance’ when it had tracks. Everyone loved it. Then they ruined it with an update,” goes one. The less direct ones include, “Holy shit a sticker reward,” which appeared sarcastic, along with another, saying the unlocks were “unfun” and “not worth $80.”

The complete whining, though? Not really. A few players are still enjoying themselves, such as the unassuming one stating, “This game is so fun.” And then there are chaotic energy-filled responses like “Skill issue” and “Don’t reply to Nazi supporters please”, which is… sure.

The biggest takeaway? Gameplay is so good, yet the community’s patience is wearing thin. Between the prolonged state of online dysfunction, ill-advised updates, and sticker rewards that no one asked for, Nintendo sure has a lot of baggage in front of it. The bigger question: Will Nintendo listen? Now, that’s the race we’re all watching.
