The latest patch for The Sims 4 — Eco Lifestyle Expansion Pack — is now officially out. With it are a lot of stability improvements and new features that let players go more off the grid as a way to better their ecosystem.

It hasn’t been out for very long, but already, it’s starting to attract a lot of attention within the Sims and general gaming community. One reason for this is a bug that somehow lets select sims pee out flames. Only in a Sims game would this be possible.

A couple of users have recorded their reactions to these hot bathroom experiences. It definitely is a sight to see that you’ll want to take full advantage of if you’re one of the lucky players to experience it.

Aside from this bug, the community has also been raving about the addition of ladders. Seems like a simple addition, but evidently, some users have experienced glitches where multiple sims move up a single ladder at once. Body parts merge together like some sort of human centipede. It’s the stuff nightmares are made of.

The support team for The Sims 4 is already well aware of these glitches and are currently working on another patch to remove them.

It’s not all bad for this eco-friendly update, though. Now players have added freedom when placing their doors and windows. Players used to have to deal with a tile grid system that was pretty frustrating if you were pretty obsessive compulsive about interior design.

How your sim’s bills are broken down has also been adjusted. Instead of seeing everything in one lump some, you can see what percentage goes towards certain things. Maybe this will help you be more cautious and efficient with the things you use in your home.

In terms of off-the-grid updates, there are a lot of them. Players can now find survival and off-grid items, gather water from fishing spots and waterfalls, cook new items in remote places, and have access to additional cooking equipment. Dogs and toddlers can even be cleaned in bathtubs even when you’re off the grid.

Overall, these improvements give players a lot of great content and new features to look forward to. It’s amazing that even though this game came out all the way back in 2014, it’s still receiving update after update.

They’re not throw-away improvements either. Maxis has no plans of stopping any time soon, which is great news for loyal fans and new players.
