Just about a week way and the Summer Game Fest has every gamer going wild about what sort of surprises may be in store for the big show. This annual show, hosted by the poster industry icon Geoff Keighley, is going to air live next Friday, 6 June, at 5 P.M. ET/2 P.M. PT/9 P.M. GMT/6 A.M. JST-those last two hours are not going to be easy for the Japanese to take.
Game buffs have their alarms set and making sure that their demands are heard loud and clear in the reply section-wild demands they are. From Half-Life 3 (lol, good luck with that) to Resident Evil 9 announcements, the hype train has very much left the station with no brakes. Another very passionate Dead or Alive fan has been spamming Team NINJA concerning DOA7 reveals, which… well, they might. Maybe. Probably not, but hey, the dedication is laudable.
Some of the high-demand replies include:
– Walkthrough on Ghost of Tsushima 2 gameplay (Ghost of Yotei, as termed by one player)
– Sonic Racing Crossworlds release date
– Lies of P DLC announcements
– That underground Bloodborne sequel that nobody sees
– A great cosign pleading for Bioshock 4 disclosures
Then there are those which give off real chaotic energy: One will be “busy playing Mario Kart” and won’t be watching; Another one demands the event to “wrap it up” before it even starts (how rude); And there are some others who are in the live audience throwing 🤩 emojis all over the place with excitement.
The timing of Summer Game Fest could not have been any better. E3 would never rise again. So this became the chief summer gaming event. Above the announcement of Mortal Kombat 1 gameplay and the surprise announcement of Alan Wake 2 last year lies some serious pressure upon what 2025 can even come close to.
There is talk of the possible feature of the so-styled Switch successor. “Switch 2 games” is very much repeatedly mentioned as one of the most awaited reveals. Considering the Shrine to Secrecy Nintendo is, that might be a bit far-fetched but it never hurts to keep hope alive.
The most wholesome moment has to go to the indie devs Voyagers of Nera who just seem genuinely excited to see all the games. Meanwhile, the opposite side of energy goes to the Jurassic Park Survival fan who is demanding gameplay footage when the game isn’t even coming out till next year. Patience, my dude.
One thing is for sure: be it for some Resident Evil 9 news, some sweet Sonic racing, or just viewing Geoff awkwardly smile through another Call of Duty segment (we see you cornaccount3421), Summer Game Fest 2025 is shaping up to be must-watch material for any gamer.
You want to do a favor to yourselves–set those reminders, stock up on snacks, and prepare for glorious announcements or crushing disappointments. That’s the beauty of these events-you never know what you’re gonna get until the lights go down and the trailers start rolling. One can just hope that one or two predictions by fans go legit.
