During the recent Nintendo Direct Mini, it was announced that a new Bokujo Monogatari game would be released soon. XSEED Games confirmed they would be localizing the game as Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town on social media.

Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town will be the first original title in the series to launch on the Nintendo Switch. While Story of Seasons: Friends of Mineral Town was released this Summer, it was a remake of the Game Boy Advance game.

Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town will contain two playable protagonists to choose from. Inspired by their grandfather’s stories about his old pioneering days, the budding farmer decides to leave their city life and move to the frontier in Olive Town.

After arriving in the town, the protagonist meets the town’s mayor and grandfather’s old friend, Victor. He brings them to the old farm, which has not been maintained in several years. However, the protagonist is determined to bring new life into the old farm and revive their grandfather’s dream.

Olive Town is located near the farm and on a peninsula. The small town is host to several characters, some of which will provide a bit of romance. Similar to other games in the series, players can choose one of these eligible bachelors or bachelorettes to marry and raise a family with.

Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town will give players more freedom to customize their farm down to the ground titles. Farmers will also have to spend lots of time in the wilderness and collecting necessary resources to rebuild old buildings and create new ones. Players can also take requests from Olive Town residents and improve their town.

The game will be a good stepping stone for those who haven’t played a Story of Seasons game before. There are two modes. Seedling Mode is for beginners and offers more gold and items from the start. Normal mode is for veterans who already know what to do with some changes to the gameplay.

Olive Town offers even more activities to do. Players can fish or participate in various events. The new game will have over 200 unique events, which will offer more than previous games.

The trailer for Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town also shows that mining is back. Players can head to the mine to collect valuable ores and more to upgrade tools. Ore is also used to build helpful items, like automatic feeders for livestock and sprinklers for crops.

Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town launches on March 23, 2021, for the Nintendo Switch.
