XSEED Games has announced a new update for Story Of Seasons: Friends Of Mineral Town. The patch contains a few small issues concerning trophies, dialogues, and minor translated text issues. Although the game is also out on PC via Steam, this update is only for the Nintendo Switch release.

Update version 1.0.3 resolves four issues. Previously, “Solomon’s Ring,” the trophy for owning five varieties of pets, was not unlocking correctly. Players can achieve this trophy by purchasing a pet from Van in the town square on the 15th of every month. The range of pets will vary depending on the season, so it may take a full year for some to unlock the trophy.

The next issue revolved around giving a character a disliked or their most hated item. Sometimes an error would occur when the character-specific dialogue would not display. Players can give the villagers any item, but some will become upset. Giving a character an item they hate has the potential to lose any “hearts” necessary to unlock future mini-events.

The next issue resolved one dialogue line. After the Moo-Moo Festival, which celebrates cows, Marie’s name would incorrectly display as Elly. Marie is the kind librarian, while Elly is a nurse working in the clinic. The patch now lists the correct speaker.

The final resolved issue corrects some of the English, German, and Spanish text issues. The game was initially released in the Japanese language and was then translated into seven other languages.

Story Of Seasons: Friends Of Mineral Town is a remake of Harvest Moon: Friends Of Mineral Town. The game was previously localized by Natsume in 2003. The Bokujo Monogatari series is now localized by XSEED Games, which is part of Marvelous.

Story Of Seasons: Friends Of Mineral Town improves the game experience with updated graphics and controls. Some of the biggest changes are the addition of a new male and female playable character, bringing the total to four. There were also two new romanceable characters named Brandon and Jennifer. Brandon is an artist renting out a room in Gotz’ cabin, while Jennifer stays in a tent on Mother’s Hill.

While the basic plot and characters are the same, the game was updated for modern platforms. It’s one of the most memorable installments in the Bokujo Monogatari series and has been re-released several times on the Game Boy Advance, WiiU, then later remade into a 3D version called Harvest Moon: Back to Nature for the PlayStation and PSP.

Some fans are hoping that additional content will be added to Story Of Seasons: Friends Of Mineral Town in the future, along with a PlayStation 4 port. There are currently no plans for any additional content updates in the future, but this may change.

Story Of Seasons: Friends Of Mineral Town is available now on PC via Steam and the Nintendo Switch.
