Square Enix has published a new website celebrating ten years of the NieR series. The series celebrates its 10th anniversary next April with the first title NieR. The game went on to be released in Japan as Nier Gestalt and on the PlayStation 3 with a different design for the protagonist.

The anniversary website uses a unique design for the “10,” which imitates the head of Emil.

Unfortunately, the website has almost no content. Three buttons are linking to the official sites for NieR: Automata, NieR: Replicant and Gestalt, and the merchandise store. There is also background music that users can toggle on and off.

There is also a “What’s New” ticker that announces the website’s official release date on December 3, 2019, in Japan. The other news is from July, which announces the YorHa Stage Play Ver1.3a dates.

The new website will be used to announce various events, limited goods, and any new game content.

NieR has been popular since it’s release. NieR: Automata, which was released in February 2017 in Japan, has won the PlayStation Platinum Prize for selling one million units, plus the PlayStation 25th Anniversary User’s Choice Awards at the recent PlayStation Awards 2019.

NieR: Automata is the most recent title in the series and is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Square Enix and Platinum Games developed it, and it was published by Square Enix.

According to the game’s official Steam page: “NieR: Automata tells the story of androids 2B, 9S and A2 and their battle to reclaim the machine-driven dystopia overrun by powerful machines. Humanity has been driven from the Earth by mechanical beings from another world. In a final effort to take back the planet, the human resistance sends a force of android soldiers to destroy the invaders. Now, a war between machines and androids rages on… A war that could soon unveil a long-forgotten truth of the world.”

While there’s been little information about the website, more is soon to come. The 10th-anniversary date isn’t until April 2020, so there’s plenty of time for Square to release new content.

In the meantime, players can enjoy the newest game and hope that Square Enix and Platinum Games plans to release a new NieR title in the upcoming future.
