Oww! That really hurt! The Sentinels Valorant team lost two-to-nil versus Fnatic in what some would call an unfair match, creating a plethora of contradictory feelings among players and fans alike. The Sentinels official twitter account tried to put a bit of a softer light on it with a “at least it was to our friends” tweet, but… um, not everyone bought into that free pass.
The replies were chaotic. From die-hard supporters of the team to even more furious lamentations, the Valorant community just became more united after the match. Player @perchancecoop blew up: “What am I supposed to tell my four year old son who watched me punch a hole in my TV?” Let’s be honest, buddy-maybe don’t let your kid watch you rage at esports? Just throwing it out there.
Then there was @DieHardBirdie, who took a more positive stance: “I love it when pros are having fun with their friends and fellow competitors.” Cute thought; however, if we’re being serious zen vibes were few and far between post-match.
The real sauce was poured when the players began naming the Sentinels organization. @RahabulShezan shamelessly stated, “Shittiest org in this history of valorant. No such shame. 100% Viewership 0% Dominance.” Ouch. You just can’t come back from that. Then @dokkaebiii_ went: “I’m ashamed to say I’m a sen fan when most of sencity are fake asf.” The truth is hard when your team is continually taking Ls.
There were some attempts to find out what went wrong. @SankhadeepSing4 stated, “Getting killed at random positions which makes the whole defense vulnerable and compromised isn’t right.” While @yawnny7 and @Joandy_ started debating player performances and roster changes. Drama trilogy forever…
The funniest thing? Accusing the OG tweet of being “rage bait” (@ottusia), which… fair enough. When your team loses and then puts out something this vague, it’s basically an invitation for the entire internet to have the roast of their lives. And oh, boy, roast they did.
Even Fnatic supporters were trying to get a piece of the action: @dashingspire said, “If it had to be any team, at least it was Fnatic,” which honestly is probably the most backhanded compliment ever. Thanks? I guess?
This is why esports are fun – JR Passion, Drama, and disgustingly over-the-top reactions to pixelated gunfights. Either you are a Sentinels stan or just there for the memes; one thing is for sure Valorant fans never hold anything back when their teams lose. And honestly, we wouldn’t want it any other way.
Now, if you’ll excuse me, I need to ascertain if @perchancecoop really did go ahead and punch a hole in his TV or if that was an excellent exaggeration worthy of Twitter. Either way, somebody needs to get that guy into anger management before the next tournament.
