A peculiar TikTok challenge has taken control of the Valorant games and is making them last much longer than they usually would. The goal is to establish a new record for most assists in a single game by whatever means.

This challenge comes with a few obstacles that must be overcome. To begin, this figure is not being monitored in any way other than by word of mouth, which makes it difficult to search for on platforms like Twitch or TikTok and even more challenging to verify.

Games Radar reported that Twitch streamer CaMbCaMb had previously set the record with 108 assists. However, CaMbCaMb himself claims that the paper has already been surpassed and now stands at 112. On the webcast that is set to take place on Tuesday, he will attempt to break that record.

The other issue is that obtaining that much assistance involves taking a different approach to Valorant. Playing as Skye and healing other players when they take damage is the quickest and easiest way to rack up assists. The more successful your squad is, the more assists you will receive because each kill that particular player obtains counts as an assist. And when you open every game by throwing a grenade at your team’s feet, it might be simple to rack up assists in a short amount of time.

The best of 25 rounds are used to determine the winner of a Valorant game, and each round has a maximum of five possible assists. If you do the arithmetic, that comes out to a maximum potential of 125 assists, but the game needs to play the complete 25 rounds to get that. This requires the opposing side to stay alive until the 25th round, which necessitates losing games they would otherwise win to keep the competition going for as long as possible.
