All right, so let’s start with this: Nintendo made the announcement, very much out of nowhere, that Switch 2 lands TOMORROW! Uh-huh. You read it right. No long wait, no awkward teasers—bam! It’s here. The online spheres are losing their collective minds again, but not everyone is totally hyped. Some are side-eyeing it for the price to place heavy pre-orders, whilst others are just here to soak in the drama. Let’s analyze.
It’s a straightforward announcement from Nintendo: “#NintendoSwitch2 arrives tomorrow. Who’s ready to play?” Short and sweet. As for the replies… well, they’re all over the place with stans camping outside the stores (shoutout to @SaviourX_x for not giving up), skeptics scaring the price (“how am I supposed to afford this?” – @n_vaughan77 returns with the relatable struggle), and a bunch of rabble rousers trash talking everything from price to accessories (@Thewolfyguy actually does the math on how much the full bundle is gonna cost). Typical gaming Twitter.
So, price remains an issue. @GamingBestbuddy called out Nintendo regarding stock issues, saying they “can’t somewhat predict how much stock they need based on the current market trends.” Buh? @RedeAdventures dragged retailers such as Target and Walmart for allegedly ditching the pre-ordering parties, and meanwhile, @magicalsharky got into a fight with @LPNintendoITA about… something? Escalated very quickly, but that’s Twitter for you.
Now onto the games because that’s what really matters, right? @godbey_kaleb just wants Mario Kart, and really? Yep. @CrookshanksEric is stoked for Donkey Kong, so that works too. Then you’ve got @Maverick7r throwing down the gauntlet for Wind Waker HD and Twilight Princess HD porting, and honestly? Fair. Nintendo, give the people what they want!
Then there’s the analog trigger madness. There was full-blown drama between @Bilboba74088736 and @grok with regards to the Switch 2 supporting GameCube controller analog triggers for things such as Super Mario Sunshine. Grok’s reply was something of a mini-essay. The gist? “Probably, but test it yourself tomorrow.” Perfectly clear and utterly vague, that’s Nintendo for you.
But there are other fun things too, like @LOSTLEAD8R begging for achievements (Nintendo, please), and then @Bancho29 chiming in with a hype gif. Oh, and then @DrakeS279 is involved in one of the weirdly wholesome conversations about Klonoa? Twitter is a wild beast.
So, what do we think? The Switch 2 is out, and everyone is either 100% in or just giving their wallets the side-eye. Some are preparing to lay it down for their first-ever boot-up (Mario Kart folks, we’re watching you), some are just going to hang back for the drop in price, and then there are those who just sat down to watch the craziness. Is it going to gain momentum? Tomorrow’s the day to find out! One thing is for sure, Nintendo is good at keeping buzz in the air! So who is snagging one on day 1? Predict it and maybe throw some proof in the comments below!
