Depending on who predicts fans to surge past, whoever wins the Western Conference Finals between the Thunder and the Timberwolves is being debated by the NBA 2K community. One of the NBA 2K guys then started this off by asking fans to put in their two cents, and they put in a whole lot more.
There was contention from the start. Some stood four-square for the Thunder, into the prediction of “Thunder in 6” cropping up more than twice; some, however, were the hardest of supporters for the Wolves, throwing “Wolves in 6” as if it were a done deal. Then there were those wildcards out there who threw “Wolves in 5″ with a jab about free throws. Classic.
And yet, the predictions by themselves would not put a stop to the conversation; some used the opportunity to roast NBA 2K itself. One even called the game ASS,” while another demanded roster updates, stating: “Randle ain’t had braids in 2 years.” Harsh but fair.
Thunder fans bank on the dominance of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, whereas the Wolves camps hype the talents of Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns. And then one had to be in there with a “Lakers in 5” just for the heat. Glory to chaos!
A funny thing about this debate: so many are trying to stick to this “in 6” storyline, whether it’s OKC or Minnesota. A handful ventured to seven games; hardly any dared to say five. But that’s the beauty of sports debates – the whole world is talking, and nobody is shy about it.
Being NBA 2K talk, the conversation soon turned to complaints about the game. From outdated player models to general franchise frustrations, fans made their voices heard. But, after all, the question that matters in yonder world: Who’s really winning the W in this might-have-been match?
Apparently, from the replies, things stay close. Thunder fans are confident and play hard through it all, while the trolls run it for fun. One thing for sure: Should this play out in real life, it is going to break the Internet forever.
