The lion’s share of a massive, enormous deal is a special treat for Monster Hunter fans on Steam–it bundles Monster Hunter: World, Monster Hunter Rise, their expansions, and both Monster Hunter Stories games into one limited-time Series Pack. But will you be willing to afford this monster pack? Only until the 19th of June. So, hurry up, but don’t rush.
The hurting part is: If the acceptance of anyone can be accepted as a good deal, some customers get quite hurt. The reply section to the Capcom announcement tweet is filled with petitions to give the older Monster Hunter games the same type of treatment. Where is Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate? Or 4 Ultimate? Right, the older classics like Freedom Unite? Somebody went ahead and said, “Stop saying ‘Series Pack’ when half the series isn’t even here.” Pretty cutting.
Put salt in the wound: While some are asking for better Switch 2 performance for Rise and GU, we will always be hearing cries about World PC optimization. One reply went outright: “Just fix MHW for PC, that’s all we’re asking!” Meanwhile, another pessimistically forecasts a doom if the next update will be a flop for the Wilds.
So, if you have in any way yet to step your toes into the Monster Hunter waters, that’s an easy grab. Enough to make it worth it are World and Rise alone. Putting Stories on top of that? That’s the topping! But, at least in the eyes of the veteran fans, Capcom is being turned down for ignoring the older entries.
And much madness goes on in the replies, like the Akuma layer… thing? One more laments the contest rules. Those are classic Monster Hunter vibes!
So, if you’ve been itching to dive into Monster Hunter, time to get cracking. But if you’re a dinosaur who’d kill for a port of the classics… well, keep screaming into the great void, I guess. Maybe Capcom will pay attention one day. Or they might just keep dropping the very same pack every few weeks. Who knows?
Either way, the Series Pack is out, and the clock is ticking, while in ever-loud voices of the fanbase: some things just don’t ever change.
