Minecraft 1.16.2 Release Candidate 2 went live today which means the full release of the next Minecraft update should be ready for launch tomorrow, Tuesday, August 11th. This Release Candidate has been released to remove a number of bugs in preparation for the update tomorrow. What are Piglin Brutes? They are basically stronger versions of the regular Piglins found in Bastion Remnants dotted throughout the new nether biomes released in Minecraft 1.16. These new mobs will only spawn in new Bastions rendered in 1.16.2, although your Realms will update on their own. You will just have to visit a Bastion Remnant in a new Nether chunk. Be careful - other Piglins will also attack you if you decide to attack the Brute. Why is this a problem? Brutes are always hostile to the player, unlike normal Piglins. They have 50 health or 25 hearts of health and wield a golden axe. They will not respawn once you've killed a Piglin Brute - this means it is possible to clear out a Bastion Remnant to collect the loot! You will need to clear the Bastion Remnant of Piglin Brutes before you try to gather loot from the Bastion chests, otherwise, you'll have a whole pig army chasing you out of the Nether. Minecraft 1.16.2 also has some other interesting changes. Lanterns can now be used underwater alongside the brand new chain block. This is great news for builders, especially those with an underwater project in mind. Changes to Bed Respawn have also been introduced. The most simple part of this is that the Respawn point will follow the side you entered the bed from - this should make risky bed placements a bit safer. Hardcore Minecraft players will also like the new addition of Fire Resistance to the very useful Totem of Undying. Minecraft 1.16.2 should go live tomorrow on August 11th.
