Naturally, Epic did a major update to LEGO Fortnite, and Expeditions looks like a big hit to be tested. The newest addition has the squads joining up for missions, selecting new Hero Classes, and bringing in new weapons to spice things up. While many are ecstatic over this, another clamour has appeared calling for old-school Fortnite skins and collaborations to be brought back. Truly vintage behaviour from the Fortnite community.
The unofficially-installed teaser on new content from the official Fortnite accounts came with an unassuming call to action: “Gather the squad to check out @LEGOFortnite Expeditions!” The response, though, was a chaotic cacophony of hype, demands, and a few here and there complaints. @BREAKINGBADFORT expressed that the new mode was “actually so fun,” which is a lot coming from such picky gamers.
And of course, like almost any Fortnite update announcement, came the requests to get their skins back: @DawsonNguy55374 pleaded for Travis Scott skin; @simbartman shouted, “BRING BACK NARUTO.” Meanwhile, the ever-persistent @FrogForFortnite has been asking for Tsuyu Asui, from My Hero Academia, to be added for over 300 days. That’s dedication? Or is it obsession? Maybe both?
Following up were the usual complaints, with @VersaFN8 complaining that ranked players were ruining casual matches “bullying all the mobile players” in Blitz Royale. Others, like @tristin54539, had… well, opinions on the in-game music glitches. Let’s say their word choice was… explicit.
On the flipside, there was some positivity: @keshiaford enthusiastically declared the games maxed out on Hunter and Rift Ripper classes and was about to grind Shadow Caller. Meanwhile, @Soulbound_TV nailed the LEGO Fortnite vibe: “where teamwork makes the brickwork.” Adorable.
Back on topic with the new content, Expeditions is apparently a squad-based game mode where players perform missions with various Hero Classes—each presumably having its own abilities. Able to introduce new weapons probably means Epic is still peddling the gameplay towards new horizons, although @GrooveFortnite did throw in a sarcastic jab about whether these new weapons were any more “new” than recycled ones.
A big question floating around is whether this mode is permanence: @Tronlover2004 straight-up asked, with Epic remaining mute on the matter. Considering Fortnite switches its modes in and out so much, it’s a valid concern.
There are also random requests, like @Dermot2Kermit asking, “But where’s Clyde?” Meanwhile, @ll_miss_savage was begging for Sarah Connor’s return. As for @itsnolan2006, they felt strongly about the Avatar collab: “Get rid of that avatar shit before y’all done get blown up.” Harsh.
The overall reaction to Expeditions in LEGO Fortnite is mixed: some players are loving it, some are using it as a reason to demand old content, and some are just here to complain. That is just the Fortnite community. At least, that new mode gives those factions a fresh aim to pursue while waiting for their maybe-returning skins.
So if you haven’t jumped into this yet, gather the squad and run it. Just mute that in-game music if you dare not to hear @tristin54539’s seething call.
