Fans of Animal Crossing: New Horizons will have their hands full in the month of July, between the diving update arriving on the 3rd and all the new species of fish and bugs to catch. Today we will be going over each new critter arrival for the month, and just where to find them.
Unfortunately for those in the Southern Hemisphere, there are absolutely no new bugs or fish coming in the next month. Soon, you guys will see some new animals returning, but until then try and content yourself with the upcoming update.
FISH
Now for those in the Northern Hemisphere, starting with fish, there is a small variety of new faces to see swimming around your oceans and rivers.
- Northern Hemisphere – Fish
- Sweetfish – all-day in rivers (medium)
- Napoleonfish – 4 am to 6 pm in the sea (large)
- Pufferfish – all-day in the sea (medium)
- Blue Marlin – all-day at the pier (large)
- Ocean Sunfish – 4 am to 6 pm in the sea (large w/ fin)
The most difficult of the lot this month will likely be the Blue Marlin, as it is the only location-specific fish. The best method to spawn this elusive critter is to hoard up on fish bait. If you keep using fish bait on the end of the pier, you can eventually spawn in a large shadow. If this shadow is a Marlin, congratulations! If not, rinse and repeat.
