For gamers, July 2025 is promising to be an overflowing month, from eagerly awaited sequels to nostalgic remakes and every new IP in between. Mechs and college football should get some decent numbers in viewership too; what games, however, are the players thinking to truly splash money on? Let’s find out.

The month kicks off with Mecha Break on the very first of July, the brand-new march combat game that has already garnered some hype for itself. ByronHines7 is determined to buy it Day One. Then came EA Sports College Football 26 on July 10th, reviving the beloved series of NCAA football after so many years of dormancy. Virtual college ball is still highly sought after, to say the least, backed by fans like maselawrence5 and bmuny101.

The tides of July provide the prime opportunity for the nightrider’s nostalgia rush. At midnight of July 11th, Patapon 1+2 Replay, as well as Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3+4, gives the players the chance to wade through their own memories of classic gaming. RobertLatinoUSA is all about Tony Hawk, while BocchiHajinmon is setting his sights on Patapon. Donkey Kong Bananza, being released on the same day, already enjoys mediocre reputations. With Drew Nagle’s enthusiastic yelling of “BANANZA BABY!” ringing through the halls, justfilthygamin and Winterscythe11 are poised to join in on the fun for DK’s newest adventure.

On July 15th, Destiny 2: The Edge of Fate will be released, and some of the grinders are ready to go hardcore while others, including Elyndrys, aren’t all that certain about playing anything this month except maybe Donkey Kong. However, on the 17th, RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business will hit stores, the expansion for last year’s shocker of a shooter. Ready to jump into Unfinished Business, having platinumed the base game, is Shade; the hype is equally shared by OneManLaptop who had a slight slip-up calling it “Ninja Garden” (close enough?).

Shadow Labyrinth releases on the 18th, and FightFireWithF4 was already shouting that Wildgate, out on the 22nd, is a genuinely great extraction shooter with spaceships. Wheel World is out on the 23rd. Sveppi is intrigued but it seems it’s not really taking hold as so many of the other releases.

Things get a little wild toward the very end of July as Killing Floor 3 and Wuchang: Fallen Feathers launch on the 24th. BaldDavid_ is all in on Wuchang, calling it “the next Black Myth Wukong”. Grounded 2, Tales of the Shire, and Ninja Gaiden: Ragebound touch down on the 29th. Nitescape shows love to Grounded 2, a co-op experience of the first one, while Its_JC4 seeks Grounded 2 on Game Pass (also Mecha Break and Tony Hawk – smart move).

Not everyone’s cash is spilling out, however. mrpyo1 and some keep holding out for Death Stranding 2 in August; while lzzyedenszero waits for Silksong and the new Atelier game; while Dino_Fino_24 finally gave in and will break the curse with a game bought every month.

So what’s the verdict? Donkey Kong, RoboCop, and EA Sports College Football 26 get the star billing, but there is a heck load of love for the indie and small titles also. Be half into it or saving up cash; July 2025 has a sector to watch. Now excuse me while I run around and get six of these preordered.
