To address a common gripe from the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 community, developer Infinity Ward has confirmed changes to how lobbies disperse following each match. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2’s open beta is available now for download on PC, Xbox One, and PS4.

Initially, the beta was only available to PlayStation users who had pre-ordered Modern Warfare 2, but the public eventually got its hands on it.

Users still have a few days to get their hands on Modern Warfare 2 before the test ends on September 26. Infinity Ward has been keeping players up to date on their intentions to address various concerns, and these beta sessions are a common way for developers to get feedback. The creator is ready to respond to a common gripe among Call of Duty fans.

After each game of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Infinity Ward acknowledges receiving complaints about how lobbies break up. As a result, the designer is working on some changes that will make it more likely that lobbies will stick together, and the user interface for broadcasting this information in-game will also be enhanced. Unfortunately, players may have to wait for the final release to see the enhancements above, as Infinity Ward provides no further details regarding how this will function.

There are many Call of Duty: Modern Warfare fans out there who have voiced their desire for persistent lobbies. Many spectators, it would appear, appreciate this added dimension to the game because it allows them to meet other people and develop friendly rivalries.

At present, all players require is to pick their preferred game types and then select Quick Play, at which point matches will be sourced from among those choices. Then, every game ends, the lobby is cleared out, and the system starts looking for new players.

However, contrarily, such choices can polarise the player community, which could affect the fairness of the matchmaking system as a whole.
