So, after the years of hype and speculation, Rockstar, a company praised for hyping up the platform, has thrown in a release date that is now just a year away.
The gaming community told the story of a great storm formed, with some still parodying this “release date.”
The announcement was made through a simple Twitter post stating, “GTA 6 is exactly 1 year away from its release 🔥,” garnering a mixed barrage of excitement and cynicism. Fans have been calling the incoming title “fire” and are practically counting down the days; others are simply convinced that Rockstar shall give in to another delay-rightly-so, because delays have become par for the course these days in game productions.
User @Necroptix1 pointed out the fact it is near their birthday, so it is “lit.” On the other hand, @YonkouParagus said, “It will get delayed again when it’s 6 months left,” representing the shamefully large number of people that have faced harsh burns of expectation and subsequent delay (until now, Cyberpunk 2077).
Then there was a Fortnite squad, just further diverging from the whole scenario. “@DDwqdew33930” responded with: “What the fuck is this shit? This is not Fortnite. No one care.” “@nfed5s”, meanwhile, declared what must be the death of all hope for the Roblox copycat game. This probably means they are pretty much done and ready for open-world shenanigans in GTA 6.
This doubt is justified. Rockstar has often delayed releases to maintain quality—or so the fans say, maybe it’s to squeeze in more microtransactions (Just kidding… maybe not.”) @xNovar joked, “You mean 1 year away from its next delay,” and @alexjrfrizzell replied, “Watch them delay it again.”
But the hype cannot be ignored. Some fans are already envisioning things, with @KnownAsBro stating, “GTA 6 finna be fire🔥🔥🔥🔥,” and @offlThangaraj wistfully whispering, “Vice City awaits!”
So is GTA 6 really coming this year as promised? Or does Rockstar have one last ‘delay’ in store for us? Only time will tell. One thing is agreed upon, whether you like the release date or not-the anticipation (and memes) will thrive exponentially.
To all the skeptics: you are definitely not alone. Even those who are somewhat hopeful are only halfheartedly supporting it. But in this industry, it is rock-solid evidence once such stuff is actually in your hands—right from that very moment until you are tearing the streets of Vice City, or wherever GTA 6 is going to take us.
Young grasshoppers, brace yourselves! The next twelve months are going to be something else.
