Goblin Slayer: The Endless Revenge has announced it will end service by the end of the year. The mobile game was only released in Japan, although overseas fans were hoping for a release outside of the country.

The mobile game was initially launched in December 2019. The game was free to play, but there were in-app purchases. The game is based on the series of the same name that began as a light novel but was then adapted into a manga, anime, and film.

Goblin Slayer: The Endless Revenge follows the character of the same name. Goblin Slayer is only interested in slaying goblins. However, there are some missions he cannot complete alone. At first, a young Priestess joins his cause, and then later, he is joined by a Shaman, Elf, and Dwarf.

Also appearing in the game was Guild Girl, who always provided him with goblin slaying-related jobs, and his childhood friend Cow Girl, a local farmer who lives with her Uncle and provides the warrior a place to sleep.

Goblin Slayer: The Endless Revenge was an action game that is played vertically. Players only have to “swipe” and “tap” to attack. Goblin Slayer and his crew accept various missions from Guild Girl, where they usually consist of clearing out all enemies within a dungeon.

Characters can grow stronger by using various materials collected by enemies and leveling up their skills. These enhancements allow the party to fight more powerful enemies.

Since its launch, the app has held various events that feature the heroines from the series. Many of the events allowed players to collect various outfits for them in battle.

The end of service announcement was made suddenly on the official Twitter for the game and within the app. Previously, the game announced new events with teaser images and more. Sadly, there haven’t been any new updates since September. It made fans wonder about the future of the game, especially since other mobile games keep players updated regularly with news.

Fortunately, there is good news for those who made purchases within the game. Those who bought the in-app paid currency “Diamonds” can receive a refund until the end of service date. Players will only be refunded for Diamonds left unused.

Goblin Slayer: The Endless Revenge will end service on December 25.
