A massive announcement by HoYoverse is bound to have stirred the waters of the Genshin Impact community—the HoYoverse Cafe is soon to be opened, celebrating its launch with an event themed “To Coffee and Companions.” Pre-registrations opened on June 20 for European players, enticing them with the chance of winning exclusive merchandise and trying themed treats. Since their counterparts in Europe would be rejoicing, some would be lamenting their inability to partake in the celebrations, with responses as numerous as an incompletely brewed potion.

The event will go on until June 27, and besides the giveaways, five lucky finalists have been selected to receive a very classy Grand Opening Exclusive Set Meal from the Genshin Impact × HoYoverse Cafe. Badgering-the-Bset in a lovely manner: they only ship within Europe! Groaned all in the area.

The tweet is hopeful—with talk of chilling with Genshin companions over coffee and the catchy “Shared spoons, bound by brew!” phrase. Cute and distant from eliciting a smile from everyone! The replies “ran the gamut” from cheers, anger, to complete confusion.

One user, PhanDuy96, posted a small rant regarding the merch strategy of Genshin and exclaimed: “Logo- phone- Car- Food- Cafe, next is Restaurant!” He was harsh with his words but said the fandom is passionate about it because now many are moving on to Zenless Zone Zero and Wuthering Waves.

Meanwhile, @Ididoko10 responded with: “Puta vida, tan cerca y a la vez tan lejos.”

The location seems to be a massive failure point. Players such as @zqnaxa and @Mereosuki slammed HoYoverse for always selecting Berlin. “Can we for once not do everything in Berlin?” one asked, while the other pleaded: “Come to Cologne for once.” Even @autumn_sky96 crept in on the drama by begging for events in Poland with “I’m on my knees 💔💔💔.”

Not all comments were rancid, though. Some, such as @theUxBlockChain, were still right there amongst the dissent, tweeting, “Genshin + coffee + merch? This is dangerous for my wallet and my heart.” Then there’s @vavavish1, who spotted some familiar faces in the promo art and happily tweeted, “Skirk Childe wait for me.. Berlin is not too far.”

Whenever someone starts making demands, @Cyberfox64 takes full advantage of the opportunity, tweeting, “DAY 311 of asking to add data transfer of servers.” You have to respect the tenacity.

I do sincerely think the whole event sounds like a dream for any fan of Genshin who can attend: exclusive merch, themed food, and the whole cozy cafe experience. For anyone else? This is a big case of FOMO staring them in the face.

HoYoverse has dropped their socials (@hoyoverse_cafe and @genshinimpactde) for more info, so maybe—just maybe—they’re going to take this thing beyond Europe in the future. For now, though, players outside the region will just have to soak up the fun vicariously through tweets and hope their luck shines on them during the next giveaway.

So, are you pre-registering, or are you side-eyeing HoYoverse for yet another Europe-exclusive event? Either way, the coffee is brewing, and the entire Genshin community is wide awake over it!
