Okay, fellow gearheads, for your information, the hype about the Gears of War multiplayer beta is very real. Officially commencing from today, June 13, at 12pm bewildered players all over are asking when they can play based on their time zones. Developers shared a link allowing you to check across different times in various time zones, but with the insanely giant amount of queries, the answers alternate between excitement, confusion, and a little bit of saltiness. Classic Gears community.

So first things first: The beta starts today; on the other hand, some players are still waiting for their code—that is, where are these anyway?—forbiddenly surreal. A guy named @I_Be_ZeRo_G is filled with wrath ever since he bought the Ultimate Edition ages back and was never sent the code. Others are finally sitting, a glowing beacon of beta access. What a shame, Gears team. Please fix this mess before these servers get bombarded with furious tweets.

Next up, crossplay. Oh boy. The toggle to disable crossplay? There’s fury over it because it will split the player base and kill the game much quicker. @itsarcher91_ basically said that “console players are scared of their own imagination: fake hackers.” @Mist4Penguin argued that mouse-and-keyboard players have an unjust advantage, and they’re fools who are really a problem. The replies are absolutely a warzone, if I may say so, with both sides having a fair point. One thing for sure, the beta will come.

Oh, and shortly before we get into another warzone, players are already requesting game modes: “King of the Hill from day one, please,” pleads @Chicago_Span. I can’t blame them; that’s a mainstream mode. Then you’ve got @Explicitz_GhosT, who wonders if Gears 3 will be going to other platforms. Bruh, we don’t even know if the beta’s gonna be a smooth run, let alone a full-blown remaster.

Oh, and there’s the good ol’ time zone mess! Remember? Some players expect midnight launches, some go out there, grabbing their calculators loyally just for time-difference math, and then there is Banxy—the wise guy, simply annoyed that everything’s always centered down south. Newcastle gamers, rise forth?

Lo and behold, most players are kind of standing on handling the grind again. @CrorokesalotG had to go and salute with an emoji. Welcome back to the fight. And @DonkeyOnCoDD: “So hyped all ima be on.” Mood.

So yes, the beta is coming super soon. Codes still missing; crossplay wars are ongoing, and the old will surely go down the old road of chaos. Gears for you. See you on the battlefield, soldiers. If those codes don’t come on time, well…you know what your next move is. Loudly.
