So, erm, whatever happened just happened. So the PlayStation account tweeted that Forza Horizon V would come to the PS5 Pro with all the glitters of double rays, gob-smacking draw distances, and all. The internet went mad with it when it went for 20 percent off during Days of Play.
For starters-the obvious really-Forza Horizon V is an Xbox exclusive. As Microsoft owns the franchise. So it would have to be kind of an elaborate prank, or an over-stimulating energy drink given an hour to develop, that Sony attempted some grand heist.
Now, the comments! Gimme a friend. This is just to show how skeptical they entered full detective mode, @InDaGray9oz remarked, “Damn… lie better than this,” whereas the cruelest burn came from @Replay_Today: “Bait used to believable.” Oops!
Here it began-questions of the console wars. Xbox folks never expected that. @ShanWinTheGod applauds: “Lmfao enjoy paying for those games buddy. As someone who owns all consoles I’ll go where my money gets me more value.” Meanwhile, from the sidelines of Xbox another shade thrower, @iJezabella said, “advertising an Xbox game… Sony are dead. Where’s Uncharted 5?”
Allow me to digress- there are more. Some genuinely bought it. @__Jeff_D__ tweeted “Such a great game on Pro” with a screenshot following, whereas @X__RUAX cried, “We want PS5 Pro in India.” Bruh.
The French joined the party too. @JulienPaumier1 responded, “J’ai juste acheté les dlc, le jeu de base j’ai joué via gamepass” (meaning, “I only bought the DLCs, played the base game via Game Pass”), indicating how far this lava is flowing.
And reiterating the PC Master race standpoint, @ShanWinTheGod (the one and the same, Mr. Everywhere) shamelessly reminded everyone, “Lmfao best on pc like all games.” You better believe him.
So murky. Was it a glitch? A marketing push? A fever dream? There are no words yet, but the consensus is quite clear-this ain’t real. Forza Horizon Five remains and continues to be an Xbox/PC title, PlayStation players will just have to settle for Gran Turismo 7.
But hey, Forza Horizon 5, if you want it, is on Game Pass. Just saying.
This whole incident points to one thing: gamers love it … especially fake Console exclusives, to spice up their lives. Now, back to refreshing Twitter for the next apocalypse.
(Oh, and PS-Sony, if you are actually working on a deal to bring Forza to PlayStation… we need to talk.)
