This is some seriously exciting technology news for the gaming community-this time, not about a mouse. In the realm of mousepads stands Finalmouse’s latest invention: Horizon! And well, this thing is getting a lot of chatter-from hype to skepticism-so some question if Finalmouse is going to finally ship out those keyboards.
What makes the product so sensational? The engineers of Finalmouse went all the way to Japan to collaborate with Toray-the very same people who invented polyester. The Horizon boasts an exquisite glass core covered with a very fine technical fabric that promises no z-axis compression (whatever that means) while remaining on the surface completely synchronic regardless of how hard you flick or swipe on it. Environmental conditions? Time? Ha-ha. This pad will never repay you on neither.
And of course, there were opinions on the net. Some stand awed at the prospect and are literally calling it “the Apple of gamers” (appreciate that however you want to). And others are just adding some salt and pepper to the comments section. User TradeNegative was a real CAPS LOCKive presence: “YAY ANOTHER PRODUCT BEFORE THE CENTERPIECE HOW AM I NOT SURPRISED?” Ouch. It seems like these holds of grudge are the ones still awaiting that keyboard Finalmouse teased ages ago, and now their venom is eating up this drop.
Then we have the QC, or in other words, quality control: The company has been plagued by… dreadful QC with regards to their mouses. That raises doubts about this pad as well. “Hopefully it won’t have the same QC as your mice,” one user replied, to which another concurred: “The first glass pad I have bought that would arrive cracked.” Harsh but fair.
Those are the pessimists; however, some are honestly eager, like Adrian König, who called the pad “so unique,” and FinalmouseFanPage, who is excited about the behind-the-scenes vibes. And too importantly to be omitted: “When are reviewers getting their unit?” Sparxy is calling out what pertinent because we indeed want to know if it lives up to the hype before we lay down any cash.
And yet… shipping? That is another story. One user commented it is probably good to show up “4 months after you order it”-but knowing Finalmouse’s history, that might not even be a joke. But hey, at the very least, they did say that Horizon is going to start shipping next week-so… fingers crossed?
Will Horizon be the one to change the landscape or just another overpriced gimmick? Time will tell, alongside many heated Reddit threads. But one thing is clear- Finalmouse knows how to cook up some drama, be it thrilled or all caps-happy. About that keyboard, though…
