Split right in the middle is the new opportunity picked by Epic Games this year for Fortnite-Star-Wars skins. Do I say win-to-the-extreme, or did Epic just drop it worse than Stormtroopers can aim? Things got fairly intense rallying a range of responses on a recent Twitter fine, with the question posed: W or L picks? Oh, and the answers sure were not disappointing.

Starting by naming the skins that made it: The Mando (customizable and mad cool), General Grievous, Palpatine, Rey, Poe Dameron, Wookie Team Leader, and…Darth Jar Jar. I mean, even uttering that name actually broke the internet for a short while. But this is when things started going into the gray. Some players are just not into these choices.

Over an absent Captain Rex, @KazuTheRonin was furious: “LIKE REX WAS MISSING!!!!!” And really, they have a solid point. Clone Wars fans were just not given any love. Another user, @KralizecX, was left with his list unnoticed: “C3PO, OG Boba Fett, Cad Bane, Old Obi-Wan…” He kept going. So where’s the love for the prequels, Epic?

Then, we have the whole Evie skin scenario, whereas some think it is good (one of @Surviver2x’s few good picks), and others feel the exact opposite, @GamesOfDAYNE815 lamenting, “Evie is a bad skin on its own, these variants didn’t help.” NL also didn’t do so great – some called it an L, some didn’t even bother.

But this season’s biggest MVP has got to be Darth Jar Jar. Meme skins always take the L, and this one certainly did. As @DraculaGundamEX expressed: “Jar jar and Grievous are two I wanted a lot.” Meanwhile, @ItsMykro wiped the floor with, “Jar Jar is the only W.” Harsh, but kinda true?

Yet some people are just… over it. @RobSimms17 said, “Not keen, can’t wait for the season to be over this week, to be honest.” And @kornfetti simply labeled it as “the worst collab I’m not even joking.” Damn.

Then, on the other side of the fence, not all is lost:@GanglandGazett3 argued, “It’s one of the most fun seasons to date,” and @JerrBEAR39 went on to say kudos to Epic Games for diversity: “10 unique skins… well done!” @Fox_Warrior803 also chimed in in praise for Grievous and Jar Jar, pulling Rey down too, lol.

So, what is the verdict? A mess to be sure. Beautiful, chaotic mess. Some skins slapped; some flopped; and some had players screaming into the void about missing characters. But that’s Fortnite for you-whether you love it or hate it can’t be ignored. And with Simpsons collab rumored next? Buckle up, gamers. Skin drama is far from over.
