Get ready Fortnite fans, Epic has just dropped a ton of rarity in the worlds, unable to just leave everyone flailing about in disbelief. Season 3 hit with the first official teaser that bears the two words sending shock throughout the community right now: “super-scale.” That is basically it. The tweet states from one of the big time sources of Fortnite leaks called HYPEX: “Stay tuned for super-scale news, happening later in June!” If you have been following the leaks, then you can probably guess what it really means.
There is a thing here to be unpacked. “Super-scale” carries heavy metaphorical weight. Saying “super” is basically shouting superheros, and that would neatly fit into the possible Season 3 theme. And “scale”? That would be the LEGO part of it. See, Fortnite has been talking with LEGO for quite some time now; this could mean something huge-the size of actual building blocks. May be a full-fledge LEGO superhero crossover? A battle pass full of brick-built capes and masks? The possibilities are limitless, which is something to dread.
Though not everyone was hyped anyway, some were. One member said: “another crappy season incoming.” Hard words. With that, the jokes began, and KevinIsNice123 said, “I saw some guy get bit by a spider, man.” Almost too subtle-not-so-subtle?).
And then mayhem broke loose. Some members were debating if this is indeed a hint towards the superhero theme (SamLeakss says yes, DTA says no), others begging for Naruto skins to return (we feel you, Maga), and somebody else just threw out a thought about a Fantastic Four collab. Honestly? At this point, nothing would surprise us. Fortnite is an absolute beast when it comes to collaborations.
Really, though, the question is: What does “super-scale” mean in terms of gameplay? Bigger builds if it’s LEGO-scaled? Are we getting promoted to an entirely new LEGO mode powered by superhero abilities? Or maybe, it’s just skins that look like they’re made out of plastic bricks? (And those would be really cool). There’s always going to be a Battle Pass lurking, with Alfiealfyy bluntly stating, “pls tell me there not the battle pass skins,” which… is a fair point.
Then dramedy broke out. Baked2324 decided to go on about his being blocked by HYPEX: “Way to be a bitch 🤣.” It’s a Fortnite teaser, not an affront to your very person, man. Chill out.
Anyways, the big takeaway: June ain’t gonna be any kind of calm. From superheroes to LEGO, maybe some multiverse shenanigans if the leaks point in that direction. In need of further convincing? Remember: Fortnite never plays it safe. They’d throw down a Putridpeely in a mech suit just for the heck of it. Therefore, “super-scale” can mean either-as-bad.
Time to just sit tight and deal. Undoubtedly, Epic is baking some really big stuff right now, and once it’s gonna be unveiled, we gonna sit glued on our screens all together. So who’s down for a couple of hours building a LEGO Batcave smack in the middle of Tilted?
