Undoubtedly one of the most insane-developed gameplay in Fortnite, if not the most insane, must be this Star Destroyer. That is absolutely true. From a game that previously made us dwell upon mechanics of building wooden forts, the game presently lets players call down orbital strikes in a sci-fi warzone atmosphere. The reactions to it arrived in complete chaos.
The Fortnite leaker HYPEX uploaded the clip, showing the Star Destroyer-style vessel firing this map-shattering laser beam upon the opposing. The comments in the replies seem to be divided between hype and disbelief. One comment nicely summed it up: “@athallahrn: what the fuck this game can be 😂” while others like @John_IGL jokingly said, “this is not Fortnite it is already GTA 5 online.”
But it hasn’t really won over everyone. Longtime players, who feel it’s the death knell of Fortnite, say, “@TheFacts_02: Remember when we used to have flying UFO’s, we could get into the flying ship and, all, wild life around the map with wolves, pigs and even Dinosaurs? Why does epic keep on removing all the fun things out of the game?” That’s a point of consideration-Fortnite’s identity has traveled so far in the last ten years that really, it hardly conjures up any memory of what it was in the early days.
Another point for discussion would be balance issues. @Killerx_Hellz tried to calm the chaos with, “This isnt that bad since it only lasts for a minute and a half..Just stay out of its path and your good.” @RIPTWITTA, however, wasn’t buying the whole stay-away spiel: “Oh hellna what the reload don’t have a cooldown.” Also, let’s not neglect @FLOUZY345498, who pleaded, “Patch this pls ðŸ˜.”
For some, the Star Destroyer is a spectacle; for others, it’s a nightmare. @isRobertsMusic has aligned himself against the views already: “Alright… in 0 build we’ll be cooked easily, well time to play reload this time.” Meanwhile, @Sigma_Fisch might want to keep the crazy energy up: “Glad I bush camped that pickaxe already😂.”
Of course, a Fortnite update will never be complete without its share of memes and confusion, and @yukigasaai carried on the wonderful tradition with this reaction gif: “Me when I randomly get hit by a Star Destroyer beam.” Then @FlamesFireFox followed it up: “lmao we’ve got orbital cannons in Fortnite before GTA 6.”
What now for Fortnite? At this pace, who can say? It has become a wild experiment of anything and everything-dinosaurs, UFOs, lightsabers, and now literal Star Wars superweapons. Some players love all this madness, others miss the simpler times. But I can tell you for sure: Epic is not slowing down.
If you want the chaos or the head-shaking insanity that Fortnite has become, the Star Destroyer is all yours-for the moment, until the next ridiculous update. Now get prepared since there isn’t already being ruled out from being next. Maybe the Death Star for next season? Would anyone be surprised?
