For the next Death Star Sabotage event, the teaser trailer had the holders of the industry in the Fortnite feed with some voices stating excitement and some frustration. From the credible source iFireMonkey, an oblique, swift, and teasing glimpse with few scenes of what is to come did not sit well with players.
What went on in that trailer? It showed a shadow promenade within a Star Wars-inspired setting, while in the far distance, Death Star’s eerie hum could be heard. Coupled with the presence of the Prowler’s theme accompaniment, it probably sent few players scratching their heads. One player asked, “Why the Prowler music playing in the back ðŸ˜,” while another jokingly said, “Dudes would be clapping like seals and cheering if this was Marvel.”
By varying degrees of fervency, responses here mocked or praised the trailer. Some were hyped. BriggsTwins was envisioning epic space battles: “IMAGINE GETTING IN THE TIE FIGHTER AND HAVE A GALACTIC SPACE WAR WITH THE DEATH STAR AT THE HORIZON. THIS IS HYPE!!!” Some were not so pleased. Tree0L brutally stated, “Wow that’s it awful teaser,” X23TRUhimself expressed, “An hour for this????”
The most watched annoyance was the too-short length of the teaser. So many felt that there should have been more, a full reveal perhaps, even some ideas for Season 3. “Bro no Season 3 teaser this is so lame ðŸ˜,” lamented ProFornite53807. There was, however, TheBlackMajima who did not appreciate the sour discourse and asserted, “I swear, this community is so damn miserable…”
Despite some of the mixed reactions to the teaser, curiosity still remains. NotSmurphyPlayz speculated: “Who could that person be at the end? Maybe one of the Seven?” And TheVbi came to the teaser’s defense: “You’ve made all the psychopaths mad. Anyway lowk peak teaser.”
On the flip side, Fortnite events are truly a spectacle-and branded moments, depending on whether they are loved or loathed at first sight. Death Star Sabotage still has a chance of being a huge in-game moment, more so if we get to do some Star Wars stuff: space battles or new mythics, anyone?
For now, the teaser surely did sell itself well: talk, talk, and talk. Whether it turns into something much bigger than the excitement when the event rolls on is another thing to watch out for. Were it sure, Fortnite does have a knack always keeping players guessing every moment or so-anway, there is enough speculation that keeps players entertained from one moment to another, even when some of them cannot help but roll their eyes.
So, be alert for any news. Past events have proved this: there is always the possibility that Epic Games might just blow us all away when we least expect it. Or maybe they will give us another maddening enigmatic teaser that finally tears the internet apart. It’s going to be one wild ride.
