Fortnite lovers, brace yourselves: there’s finally going to be a Blitz Royale! Per Epic’s announcement, this fast-paced mode will remain active until the 12th of August and will see some hype-filled themed weeks. Mere rumors about Dragon Ball, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Mortal Kombat going for theirs are creating a mad frenzy amongst the community.
Coming from a tweet by HYPEX, a Fortnite insider, we have the announcement of the extension and some potential themed events. And chaos started erupting. Now, some gamers want the mode to get permanent whereas others have started campaigning to bring back some skins and mythics. Some surebrain moments for spice, I’d say.
This will obviously remain the most anticipated week by Dragon Ball. Since the first drop of Goku into the game, gamers have never stopped clamoring for more DBZ content, and it looks like they’re at least partially hearing their cries now. “YESSSS LETS FUCKING GO THEY KNOW WHAT WE WANT,” one player yelled with excitement, while another demanded, “New Dragon Ball skin please.”
Jujutsu Kaisen Week is also a win for anime fans. With Hollow Purple potentially returning, those sorcerer battles in Fortnite will be taken to another level. Oh, and Mortal Kombat Week—because, really, who wouldn’t want to see Scorpion and Sub-Zero annihilate each other during a Blitz Royale battle?
However, some have their scruples. Some would even say it is “so boring” and “stoopid,” further asking Epic to “DELETE IT NOW,” while others would say it should replace worse permanent modes like Rocket Racing. “It’s way better than rocket racing and they keep that up lol” uttered one disgruntled gamer.
Love it or hate it, Blitz Royale will be around for a little while yet. Plus, these themed weeks mean the crossovers aren’t ending anytime soon. Is it possible this is soon to be a permanent mode? Some gamers seem to think so. “Can’t help but feel this is going to become permanent,” one reply mused.
July is suddenly more interesting. If only Epic will confirm Naruto Week next…
