Fortnite players supply guards: the Shockwave Hammer’s return is making waves once again in Battle Royale. Only catch: it’ll be there for a day and a split community thinks the one-day allowance is either a curse or a blessing. A new Reload map accompanied its re-entry, allowing players to pour in more mayhem.

An announcement from one of the most well-known leakers in Fortnite, HYPEX, claims that Shockwave Hammer, an all-time favorite mobility and combat item, is making a very short return. Responses timidly followed-while some revered the return, others were left wondering: “Why for just a day?”

An absolutely enraged Ali Ali said it so well for all the mixed emotions: “WE WON (for 24 hours),” while another said outright, “only a day? why bother?” Strong feelings basked on those that thought it just wasn’t enough time to really enjoy the item.

Meanwhile, the new Reload map quickly snowballed into a much-debated topic. Corey Bublitz also didn’t limit himself and labeled the map as “already sweaty af,” meaning the higher-skilled players had already claimed it. Folks like Emmanuel Ramirez were electric with hype about the movement options. “Finally best movement!” he said.

Those were not the only matters taking up the talking room of players. Some seemed confused about ranked resets, with a few asking if their ranks had just been wiped off. Others like Martysabb claimed to be dealing in clips of potential cheats, which then escalated into their mixed feelings caused by the response, or nonresponse, of support in Fortnite.

Mixed with all these were those random side chats, like someone asking about Twitch drops, which apparently weren’t showing for some. And another one demanding jokingly, “TAKE MY MONEY NOW!” Classic Fortnite community.

Anyone for the Shockwave Hammer? Some considered it, like immrnugs, “best item in Chapter 4 by far,” but people were really interested in the return of the Pump shotgun for a limited time.

So what is the definitive answer? If you’re a Shockwave Hammer fan, yours really is a one-day-only opportunity to relive the glory days of lobbing yourself into and fighting across Endgame. And with respect to the new Reload map, all the good vibes to you out there-who say the sweats are already waiting.

Whichever way you look at it, the recent update once again showed that Epic does know how to get things talking-though, for just one day. Go grab that hammer while you still can!
