Epic harshly rained on everyone when Epic canceled the vaulting of the Fortnite Reload-Oasis map ever so ironically for now. So from the 27th to the 30th, the Squid Games map will be the only one in play. Then venture into rotating stages between Venture, Slurp Rush, and Squid Game. Something about the word “later” being assigned to the keep-to-shelf for Oasis. And guess what? The community is NOT happy.

Why Oasis? Everyone asks that. Some players are mad to the point of saying that it is the “best map” and trying to convince Epic with a maybe-a-little-sorry-for-itself logic. Others are celebrating with their fists in the air, hating every bit of Oasis. The answers go both ways and get downright confusing.

@Martinuma12 just summed up the feeling of devastation: “Nooooooooooo, best map, what the hell man.” On the other hand, @E13_Kattymike discarded, “Finally I fucking hate this map.” There lies the duality of Fortnite gamers, man: Either you love Oasis or you hate it, no middle ground.

Then comes the discussion on what map should probably have been removed instead. A WHOLE LOT of people think that Slurp Rush should be the one. @asterixks61108 simply begged, “Why man 😭 remove Slurp if anything😞.” And @DeerEdits went along, “Noooo, remove Slurp Rush fr.” But, hey, Epic didn’t ask for anyone’s opinion, obviously.

Some even say the real problem is Venture. @JstEverage ripped into Venture calling it a “literal wasteland between POIs” while praising Oasis as a map that was actually made with player feedback in mind. @dochnichtanonym later went back at an advocate of Venture with, “Bro are you high? Venture has even less cover.” The trunks burn again!

And then…there’s Squid Game. Already some of the community are hyped for that new map with @Txcbeast7950 saying, “Excited for the new squid games map.” Others, though? They’re mad that Oasis got sacrificed for it. @itsj4cK0 tweeted, “the best map and they get rid of it for squid game? ffs epic.” Guess you just can’t make everyone happy.

The bigger question now is, when are we actually getting Oasis back? Epic is keeping it vague with the “later date” bit, and players are speculating. Some speculate it’ll be back in the next update; others are legit scared that it’s gone for good. Then there’s @Dumpling1921 assuming Squid Game is here until forever.

Some weird tangential debates were going on, like @KodakPink asked twice about when Reload ranks reset (clearly a pressing issue). And @LitC61007735 even dropped a meme for a random person’s completely harmless opinion because… Twitter.

At the end of the day, map rotations in Fortnite are drama-worthy. Some players will miss Oasis; some won’t care less; and some others are just here for the chaos that is Squid Game. One way or another, conversations are bound to be sparked—just as “Epic” would want.

So, who is hyped for about three days of dropping in Squid Game? And, more importantly… who is already counting down until that Oasis lift?
