Fortnite kiddies are about to finally feel the tension of Squid Game with far less danger involved (so, somebody rage-quit should be on the records). The official Fortnite account has dropped a bombshell stating that a newly inspired Squid Games map is set to hit Fortnite Reload next week. Judging from reviewers’ opposite reactions, this will either be the most hyped addition or an absolute mess. Maybe it’s both!

The tweet was super simple-a few traffic light emojis, “Run, run, run,” followed by a gloriously hyped-up video that seemed to be showing Red Light, Green Light. The replies, though, were sheer madness. Gina Barfield said it perfectly, “This map’s about to make every match an ‘Edge of your seat thrill ride.” Meanwhile, some, including Dhudizi, gripe about collabs being pushed into Reload mode as if Reload should really be about classic Fortnite vibes. You really can’t please everybody, can you?

Players are already predicting the outcome. Verlaxify yelled, “WE ARE SO READY FOR THE CHAOS!!!” which…yeah, very fitting. Others share more saltiness, like Keskuul, who is mad that it’s not a “normal” map but stuck mid-air or something. At the same time, the Spanish-speaking contingent is hyping it up with AaronCraftt yelling, “Jugaremos muévete luz verde” (We’re gonna play Red Light Green Light).

And for the real tea? Players side-eyeing how Call of Duty got actual Squid Game characters (Frontman and The Doll), whereas Fortnite kept to just a map. SleepyMexican18 threw some shade with a meme. Ouch. But seriously – the Fortnite one is probably gonna be way more fun to play with. Sorry, CoD.

Content creators are getting themselves ready for reactions. SypherPK got meme-tagged for going nuts on this drop, whereas somehow Nick Eh 30 got pulled into the family-friendly replies (random but okay). The leak scene is also into this-too-glory-to-Pluto-V2-for-the-post is getting absolutely bombarded with “MEEEE” replies from players desperate to test this for themselves.

There’s yet an unanswered common man around it: will this be LTM? Some sort of Reload rotation? Will we have Squid Game skins? (Please, give us the pink soldiers, Epic.) bretinator10 guessed this Friday for a drop, but really, who knows with Epic being so weird with timing on their update schedule.

One thing I can stake my reputation on is that either it’s gonna be the most brilliant or the most broken thing Fortnite has done for a while. Servers these days will go either join or avoid mode once it goes live. Grab your default dance emotes and start practicing your statue impressions because next week will be an ultimate playground for Squid Game stans and chaos lovers. Try not to be eliminated in the first round…unless you want to be that guy who lost his way in the original show. Don’t be that guy.
