Faerûn is calling and the PlayStation gamers must respond. On 15 July, the legendary Dungeons & Dragons-type RPG goes officially on PlayStation. The radio waves carrying this announcement may well have made the news spread faster among the gaming community, where people have been freaking out, picking up their dice, and preparing their spell slots for another awesome adventure.

Neverwinter Nights 2 was the biggest 2006 CRPG, airing heavy storytelling, tactical combat, and tabletops on both single and multiplayer. The edition that recently released on PC does grant a polish to the visuals and some lifesaver changes, and in fact, it includes all expansions-Mark of the Betrayer and Storm of Zehir Workings within.

The tweets made reactions that ranged from nostalgic recall from the time of their first playthrough to activating excitement about their own experience. @Soulbound_TV really said it in a nutshell; “They really brought back the game that raised a generation of nerds 🔥.” Another witty tweet from its owner: “Can’t wait to spend 4 hours customizing a character I’ll abandon in 2 days 😂.”

Of course, a few doubted it. Some wanted a tangible copy: “@kullninja123: i want the game on disc.” In the meantime, @Orlando26246043 goes on an… interesting… rant: “PlayStation está virando o maldito Xbox.” Never die, classic console wars, huh?

Hype radiated not only from the D&D staunch crowd; opportunist GTA mod sellers also joined the fray, e.g., @GTAModFrance: “Big W for PlayStation fans! From DnD quests to GTA heists, it’s a good year to be a gamer 🕹️💥.” (We see you, but no.)

But then again, the question on everyone’s lips: Will this mean Neverwinter Nights 3? @DreamMetaX seems confident: “Neverwinter Nights 3 is going to be epic.” Of course, no news yet from both Beamdog or Wizards of the Coast; still, one never loses hope.

Meanwhile, July 15 cannot come soon enough. Whether an original vet or an ardent Chrismas new-be, Neverwinter Nights 2: Enhanced Edition shall do the old school Dungeons & Dragons proud, just with a little less fuss over who got the last pizza roll.

So, grab those controllers, and assemble your team for some action in Faerûn (whether it’s doomed or saved, is none of our business). The Enhanced Edition is just around the corner, and the Realm won’t save itself… Unless you are one of those people who actually allow a rogue to pass. (Spoiler: Don’t.)
