Epic Games dropped an unexpected surprise on the Fortnite community that is nothing short of ultimate-The Galactic Battle would be live TOMORROW. Yes, you heard that right-no more wait, no more teasers-just themed intergalactic chaos hurled at you. Of course, our crafty devs had to sneak in some late changes with tomorrow being the big day.
So what’s the inside, really? Well, just seeing if you can stick with me-this is not plain and simple update; we’re going all out: laser blasters, alien tech, and if we are almost lucky-zero-gravity happenings. The pure-hype trailer highlights some bone-chillingly new weapons and skins that almost walked straight from a sci-fi blockbuster, and there too is what could-be the newest sector of the map. Or, hey, maybe even a whole new planet? Epic is known to go bold.
Talk of good timing, of course. The update goes live tomorrow; no timing yet, though. Looking back to previous updates gives one an inkling: expect everything to give a few hours of panic-eyed F5-ing before any sort of smooth riding. Protip: Follow Fortnite’s official socials for minute updates on the update, unless you want to be that one friend still stuck in logins while everyone blasts some aliens-Super fun!
And skins. Ooh boy-the skins. What are teasers without being real cosmic warriors? Armored troopers, neon-glowing ones, and probably one skin that costs too much V-bucks anyway but you will buy just because it looks that cool. Considerable heavy speculation by leakers is surrounding the thought of a much larger crossover beyond our major sci-fi domains. But, no one is officially backing that up yet. But then again, that wouldn’t be the first time Epic knocked us off our feet.
So, gameplay updates? Absolutely. There’s talk about new energy-based weapon mechanics; in other words, shields will probably be going blue in a different manner, and guns might have some sort of overheating mechanic. Dataminers have also found files suggesting the addition of low-gravity zones, which will definitely make build fights very bizarre, I mean, just imagine cranking 90’s halfway to the stratosphere; yeah, it’s about to be pure chaos.
And for all of those lore nerds out there (which means all of you), this will be the update that finally cleans up whatever that massive spaceship was doing floating there all season. Maybe some scenarios was alien invasions, us invading them, or who knows what. But they sure would franchise some beautiful story twisters and possibly a live event that breaks Twitter trending.
What now? Then, apart from clearing the schedule for tomorrow, the squad better be getting ready. This is the one that will turn the layout upside down overnight, and you surely don’t want to be stuck with a grey pistol while basically everyone else will be wielding plasma rifles as much as their hearts can accept.
And one more thing: Epic has definitely held their cards regarding whether it is a limited-time mode or a seasonal theme. Personally, I would gamble on almost as still as being in the tester stage. Should players really go nuts for the whole space shooting arena (and let’s face it, all of us would), then it could be the launching platform for something much bigger.
So, right! Blasters charged, helmets strapped on tight, and get ready for takeoff. Fortnite is about to take us to the stars and honestly? We are not ready. But hey, that’s half the fun. See you on the battlefield, space cowboys.
