One chat materialized regarding the major changes coming to Fallout 76 PTS, and reactions varied halfway and throughout the debate. Bethesda prematurely released a tweet that linked to the entire track containing combat and perk balance changes and considered that some players are ready to riot, while others are happy about it. Fair enough? Both sides do have their reasons.
The update is just a big tweak to almost everything, including perk cards, weapon balancing. Perk cards on one hand were removed (RIP Basic Rifleman perks), and on the other, some were somewhat reworked like Bullet Storm, in which players cannot really justify the math from their perspective. One user, @DAMdude85, even stressed that the new Bullet Storm stacks reset upon reloading-the reloads for such a weapon as the .50 cal are fast and speedy. Seriously, Bethesda, did you guys test this one with heavy guns?
This change consequently brings us to ultracite ammo, and people are BIG mad about that. Instead of dropping from enemies, it will be crafted-now, in @IamSylarr’s own words, “Bethesda are taking the piss.” I swear; that is just unfair. Grinding for ammo is already a drag; layering another level of pain over it is just too much. And of course, stealth builds seem to get absolutely butchered, with @gangstagoofyy griefing about how their “dead” stealth fixers build feels. Yikes.
But it wasn’t all gloom. Some players, such as @nukesdragons, are on the side of the change and view it as a net positive for the balance of the game. And @EmmyAlexanderr fully hyped it up, saying the game feels “brand new” now, which… sure, if ‘brand new’ means ‘time to rebuild your entire loadout from scratch.’
Of course, an update from Bethesda wouldn’t be complete without obligatory comments asking, “WHERE’S ELDER SCROLLS 6?!” @MenacetheD44533 and @Spkoholic joined in with some variation on “stop messing with 76 and give us a real game,” empowering the sentiment since 2018. Then let’s not forget the Starfield fans (@Its_Gingah) who threw their hands up because apparently, they are damned if Bethesda does and damned if they don’t.
$\text{One of the weirdest happenings would be that with all the chaos,}$ @grok (supposedly an AI) sought to summarize things but ended up sounding like a confused Wikipedia editor. Gracias, compañero.
What do We have this time? The update is your jam if meta-shake-ups interest you and you have no problem spending a little bit of time working again for your build. But if you love your current setup or ranch ownership has simply gotten to you, grab some popcorn and sit back and enjoy the show. Either way, Bethesda has always kept people talking… for good or for bad. Probably for bad. But hey, at least it is not yet another Skyrim re-release, right? Oh, wait…
…What was I saying? Oh right. The PTS changes will soon go live, so brace yourselves. Or just go do something else. Really, it’s a win-win at this point.
