DOOM makes this announcement for all the fury to be released: The Twitter account announced the return of Thursday stream of purity; this time, the big guns shall be put into DOOM: The Dark Ages with Game Director Hugo Martin at the helm.
The stream opens this very night at 6 pm ET with Chapter Four of Hugo Martin’s playthrough. If ever it stood on your “Want to See” list, about how the devs themselves take on all the chaos… well, tonight is your time to make up. Alongside this, the team revealed an alternative thumbnail courtesy of JackBone-the sickest let me tell you.
Well, with so much chatter come the haters. The tweet’s comments in general are a mixed bag of hype, disappointment, and confusion. Someone by name @DoomSlayer_22 didn’t mince his words louder than pity: “Game still runs like shit on AMD cards.” Oof. Right then, @ItsSuperSpesh had to bring up the issue with the PS5 berserker trophy still being broken, lamenting, “Imagine not being capable to resolve this issue over a month after release.” Harsh but fair, indeed.
There were some positives. @SneakyJaycool gave a rallying declaration for the stream itself: “HELL YEAH!” Times, surely, for the pilgrimages shown there. Followed up by @HatoVC with, “Holy shit that’s so sick lol.”
Then we also get the dusty random DFAM, with @IIIIIlllIlIIllI proclaiming: “The hell is that fruit shit?” No context, just vibes. Classic DOOM crowd.
Are there some already looking ahead? Well, yes: @Respaldo_albar0 wonders if DOOM: The Dark Ages will make it into the rumored Switch 2. Hey, a guy can dream, right?
Now, what is the act here in the stream? If you’ve been following DOOM: The Dark Ages, you know that Hugo Martin’s playthroughs are rich with behind-the-scenes interviews and cruelly hilarious gameplay. Chapter Four will be filled up with music and mayhem yet again with all trademark DOOM carnage and with some extra goodies for good measure.
This might shed away most worries about these exploits: yes, AMD card struggles do exist, and so does that damn trophy bug. But then SunnyJay claims a solution is well in the baking of the next patch.
So, at the end of the day? Do or Die are for any DOOM fan today, for gameplay, for dev commentary, or just all the watching of Martin either breaking the game in a new way or being the only one in the world who can. Now is your chance!
Grab your shotgun, sit comfy, and dig into the fun zone. DOOM’s back, baby. And it’s not going to halt for a while.
