Bungie released a surprise patch for the Destiny 2 Ghosts of the Deep dungeon. Some people rush back in, while others shout complaints. The Nine have granted blessing-like curses upon the Guardians to allow extra gear drops for everyone during the Rite of the Nine. I repeat: It’s free for all, and there’s no catch!
So what does it all mean? Ditch any plans that you may have had about sitting through the grind for the perfect roll on an important weapon-you have to get back in now. The Nine, it seems, has “recognized your power” (in exact terms from the event) and have proceeded to make everything rain. Not everyone is happy about this, of course.
Some players, among them Twitter user @srcnhknyksl, actually want the dungeon to just be removed outright-from the game; pretty harsh words. On the other hand, there are folks like @G231985, who grumbled on how ridiculous the rare weapon drop rates are, proclaiming that Destiny 2 is unfairly compared to The Division, where apparently loot just comes down raining. Then there was @KaizdV, ranting about being given the same bunch of rubbish weapon perk combos over and over again, calling the attunement system “literally broken.” Very much a yikes.
Yet, there was some good news in all of this. Several Guardians, including @DisAstrid_Web3, were eager to jump back in, tweeting, “Let’s try them out!!” @FreshFindsInc could hardly contain their excitement and pinned, “Guardians prepare your fireteams.” The classic split of the Destiny community: half of them love it; the other half are furious.
One problem? Loot pools are often questionable. @theJthatmatters claims they are stuck with “the same trash perk combos over and over” even for added drop chances. @YesterevenGunz came out stating that there is an alleged bug with the enemy drops stopping once they hit 10/12 collected; this is supposed to be an account-wide issue. There is still no statement from Bungie, so the firmest emphasis is on the players.
Then came the whole “Destiny 3 when?” bunch, with @Moracull stating bluntly, “No one cares @DestinyTheGame make destiny 3 already,” Classic. While @frosteddcake wished he had time to play but admitted being two whole seasons behind. The struggle is real.
So what is the final consensus? If you are about getting easier chances at the Ghosts of the Deep loot, this is it. But still, ask anyone in the community that RNG is RNG and almost all of them will swear that it is rigged against them. Namely, in whichever camp they fall into, Bungie gets cheered on, or they get cursed. There’s one thing, though, that the whole Destiny set will definitely never come to agreement on.
And hey, at least for once, The Nine made a little impact by bombing some guns our way.
