Bungie threw a bomb at the Destiny 2 crowd, dropping a little teaser for a July 1 developer livestream that shall cover Armor 3.0 details, ability tuning, and season pass updates. All this aside, judging from the replies to their tweet, the community at least is displeased.

Setting up the details, next developer stream shall be held on July 1st, 10 A.M. PT, and it is expected to deep-dive into the long-rumored Armor 3.0 system, changes to abilities (Bungie and nerfs are almost synonyms), and changes to the seasonal reward track. From just the trailer, it must be the most epic event after a sliced piece of bread. Well, not really. Destiny fans seem to be airing their vast moths like its Festivus in July.

Probably one player, @zwag700 indeed, says Bungie has basically “killed the game,” while @msdmilomh retorted, “This week in destiny… there is nothing to do.” Ouch, kind of harsh-sprinkled-with-salt comment from across the globe, spreading faster than a Well of Radiance in a GM Nightfall.

Some of the comments go against Armor 3.0. “So all the stuff we have now is basically useless, all the 68 armors are rips and we have to grind for a seasonal 65… Ya I dunno about that” said one @tash__i basically sharing the sentiment along with other players. The overall translation is that players are fed up with Bungie calling it an “innovation” every time they reset the grind.

But no. Changes to the stasis subclass are tortifying players toward some full disclosure. From the point of view of @kela233333, switching from “shatter” to “overload” stuns are “really stupid,” and will just make stasis the “weakest” subclass. @DronWen added in: if Bungie devs think overload stuns are easier than unstoppable, they “don’t play games” themselves. Conversely, @itsarealvinyl is full caps: “I SWEAR THESE GUYS DON’T PLAY THEIR OWN GAMES.”

Moving to the monetization drama: an argument erupts between @LostSanity1820 and @wadevstheworld with LostSanity saying basically, “I can’t justify spending anymore money on this game.” Oof. That is a huge red flag when the most dedicated fans start hitting the wall.

Even the so-called hype moments, such as new content teases, got dragged through the mud. With great disdain, @itsarealvinyl dismissed the impending DLC as “bum ass expansion” with “destination abilities ppl will forget abt after a day,” concluding, “waiting till it goes on sale.” Meanwhile, @TheKingInBlack6 ranted vehemently for Destiny 2: “give us D3 or give us death.”

So… yeah. Bungie has some explaining to do in that July 1 stream. Will Armor 3.0 actually fix anything or is it just another grind? Are those stasis changes really as bad as the players think? And can the studio re-earn the trust of a community clearly fed up? Be sure to catch the show next week—bonus points: watch this chaos in the making thanks to these replies!

One thing’s for sure: Destiny 2‘s player base is not going to restrain itself anymore. Whether Bungie will listen… now that’s the real endgame.
