DayZ players now agitated to the verge of insanity. The tweet-o-the-official account concerning a performance hit on Linux PC servers recommended choosing Windows servers for a moment. But the gamers? That is where the Linux debate ended and went on a tirade bordering on hacker collusion; it is PlayStation lag because it just takes forever to walk.
About the Linux server situation first. These guys are looking at performance hits on Linux-based servers and changed the server names to be clearer to tell which ones are Windows and which are Linux. Cool, yeah? To which the players are going, “That’s nice, but how about fixing the REAL issues?”
Squarerigght1 did declare the next one: investigate hacks and cheats. The correct demand indeed: “Investigate the cheaters and the hacks they use to ruin the game for us.” Bigboy4487 cries on their behalf: “Official PC servers are basically unplayable” because of the hackers. “You either manage to go on a good run or you’re getting killed by the hacker.” Oof.
Then, crashes come into play. Young Boy Deem (aka keystooskeed) has tried everything-under-verifying files, defragging, reinstalling, moving storage-and yet the game still crashes after the update. “I need some damn help,” he cries. And poor Maximolemosss is in crash hell on Windows 10.
And that means madness for PS players as well. MysticGamin0128 calls PS servers laggy as hell, whereas botedsneaker puts it rather eloquently with but a few words, “PlayStation too lot of problems performances…” (Really, that says everything). Even WavyyTyler is begging for a PS5 upgrade of the utmost worth, character stat tracking style from PC.
Then there are the dupes. Oooh, the dupes. PRBelieber4ever (Yes, that is the name) wants not one but TWO ALL-CAP MEMOS: “FIX THE DAMN DUPING.” They are so mad that they tweeted it twice. Can’t blame them; duping is a death knell for economies in survival games, and DayZ is no exception.
Some players, like ConfusedAmerican, claim the servers have gotten better after the update, especially when driving. But others? Not so much. LePatriote67 and botedsneaker still complain about desync and lag, with one even saying they died mid-raid to an “instant headshot” on server issues.
And then poor Nathan Warnick, aka DH5tv, just dropped $300 for a new host because of these bugs. “Ohhhh, I literally just spent $300 for a new host because of this ongoing bug,” says the guy. That’s a whole console monies, man.
So yeah, problems are there. Linux servers, hackers, dupe, crashes, PS lag: A swirling mess. Developers say they are troubleshooting, but the player base is running out of time. Will it be sorted? Maybe. But for now, if you’re on Dayz, just stick to Windows servers… and pray you don’t get heckled by a hacker.
And if you are on PlayStation? Well… good luck with that. You’re gonna need it.
