Danganronpa creator Kazutaka Kodaka has announced his next big project. Danganronpa featured anime-style characters, but his new project is taking a real-life approach. \n \nDeath Come True is a Full Motion Video (FMV) game. The official Twitter account and website launched on December 9. \n \n \n \nSo far, there is little information about the game. The website teases six characters total, but their faces are all hidden. There's also a menacing-looking character wearing a black cloak resembling the Grim Reaper. \n \nThe website had a countdown timer where the name of the main character would be revealed. The timer ended today with the announcement that the protagonist would be played by Kanata Hongo. Hongo is well known for appearing in the live-action adaptations of Attack on Titan, Kingdom, and Inuyashiki. It's unknown if the additional five characters will be announced in the same manner. \n \nAccording to the official website, Kazutaka Kodaka will be directing the game and is in charge of the scenarios. The producer is the CEO of Izanagi Games, Shinsuke Umeda. Shinsuke Kamata is serving as the Creative Director. Izanagi Games is also publishing the game, but it is not currently listed in the "Games" section of their website. \n \nThere are not many video games that currently use FMV. This is a genre of games that uses pre-recorded video to tell a story. Players can choose a path, and the various clips will load to tell a story. \n \nThe first artwork for the game even teases, "Is it a movie or a game?" It could be said that Death Come True is an interactive movie. Players will have to make the right decisions to get the best endings. Gamers who played Kodaka's previous series Danganronpa will know that making the "right" decisions isn't easy. \n \nAfter working on the Danganronpa series, Kodaka left Spike Chunsoft, along with a few other employees, to found Too Kyo Games. The studio announced four different projects, but it isn't clear if Death Come True was part of them or is a new fifth title. Previously announced was Death March Club, a platformer about a group of students trying to escape a dangerous game. \n \nNo other information, such as a release date or what platform the game will be released on have been revealed yet. It's highly likely the new game won't launch until next year.
