With the sudden announcement of a show aimed at Cyberpunk 2077 fans, particularly those waiting on the Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game, gamers are losing their minds. Shortly after, a REDstreams event appeared discussing Cyberpunk 2077 on the soon-to-be-available Switch console.

The stream was hosted by Filip Downar, Giovanni De Francesco, Alicja Kozera, and Amelia Korzycka. The event focused and went very deep about the fortunes of Night City on Nintendo’s new hardware. Honestly, players had A LOT to say. Some were excited, and some… weren’t.

First thing is, there’s the mighty question of when is Cyberpunk 2077 getting onto Switch 2. Well, CDPR really dropped the music on all that one, but some details were given about the game running well and maybe taking full advantage of Switch 2 hardware with DLSS upscaling. One player, JaredGa45120724, apparently thought that the DLSS implementation was a bit better than that on PS5, as he stated, “In normal gameplay I don’t see any shimmer.” On the other hand, Hydrogen37 wanted to see some FSR 3.1 support, uttering, “Cool, now add FSR 3.1.”

The displeasure on the release had already peppered “kinda funny they push Nintendo so hard it’s even more weak vs Xbox or PS5,” uttered trash-talker xtscailgirlx. Hard feelings. Others, VenBat_ and ku20mi, were still holding out for a Switch 1 release of the game, with ku20mi sarcastically asking, “cyberpunk for switch 1 release when?” Unless they put on much goodwill in their announcements very soon, spoiler alert: Might basically never happen.

Then came some Mac players. Le_Coulissime felt sad about the absence of the Mac version while saying, “No news about the Mac version since last year BEFORE THE SWITCH 2 WAS EVEN ANNOUNCED is heartbreaking.” Yeah, Apple fans got dumped on this one.

The mods took up with the usual complaints. “new patch going to break mods again remove all mods before 26th every patch breaks them better be worth it,” warned xtscailgirlx. Typical Cyberpunk patch cycle, isn’t it?

There was some counter-criticism though, some players just really glad CDPR is interacting with the community. Gro3_ said, “Excited for the REDstreams on Cyberpunk 2077! It’s a great move to connect directly with your community.” They are not wrong.

Until then, if you must ask? Well, a huge version update is supposed to take place sometime in June 26th, and some players (sjbobcat for one) are beginning to theorize about the studio making an appearance at Apple’s WWDC event on June 9th. Next, maybe we’ll be hearing a Mac version announcement, or they’ll just laugh and show us who’s boss.

Meanwhile, while if you missed the REDstreams, the VODs are up on their official channels for consumption to this day. And if you’re still holding out for that Switch 2 version… well, wait some more. At least, you know for certain it will definitely make an appearance. Soon. Sooner. Someday.

Meanwhile, here’s the other drama to spice things up for us. I mean, what would Cyberpunk really be without a little mayhem?
