Time and time again, the Nintendo Switch releases some great games. It’s so consistent in this regard. From first-person shooters to sports titles, the Switch offers something for everyone. The system is even getting The Witcher 3. This is one of the most popular RPGs in recent memory, so it’s an incredible addition to the huge library of Switch games.

We now have an official release date, too, along with a trailer. That is October 19, 2019. That’s only a couple of months away. All of the DLC will be included in this Switch version. That’s quite a lot of content Switchers users have to look forward to.

If you’re not familiar with this game or The Witcher franchise in general, it follows along Geralt of Rivia. He’s a Witcher who’s trained in combat since birth. He posses a bevvy of special abilities and powers, including super strength and a firm grasp on magic and alchemy. As you can imagine, he’s quite a formidable opponent for any of the creatures in this mysterious world.

The setting takes place in the Continent, a fantasy world filled with all sorts of species. A war is currently going on between the empire of Nilfgaard and Redania. There are many companions that Geralt will rely on from time to time, including his lover Yennefer, his former lover Triss, a dwarf warrior, and a mentor.

Geralt’s main mission in this third installment is to track down Ciri for Emperor Emhyr. It’s a pretty gripping story that has a lot of twists and turns along the way. You’ll run into all sorts of characters that are pretty easy to get attached to. That’s always been a great aspect of The Witcher series. You appreciate the amount of time that went into developing each character’s backstory and personality.

The gameplay is also a shining aspect of these games. As Geralt, you’ll have numerous weapons at your disposal — including swords, magical items, and a crossbow. There’s a weapon for seemingly every combat situation. It has a third-person perspective and an open-world design. There are plenty of quests to go on that will give you ample content to sink your teeth into.

If you’ve been looking for an in-depth game to really get immersed in on the Switch, The Witcher 3 is that game. You could honestly spend months with this game and still find new journeys and quests to go on. It’s a huge win for the Nintendo Switch.
