CD Projekt Red has been working on an updated next-generation edition of The Witcher 3 for quite some time, but today they finally revealed that the new game will be released soon. The Witcher 3 is regarded as one of the greatest video games. So fans have been curious to see how the game will perform if updated for the PS5 and Xbox One Series X. PC players have been utilizing mods for years to improve the looks and performance of an older game. Still, console players have been stuck with a nearly ten-year-old version of the game.

The update has been repeatedly delayed, and CD Projekt Red was supposed to have the next-generation version of The Witcher 3 available by this time. However, during a recent earnings call, CD Projekt CEO Adam Kicinski reportedly indicated that the game’s release in 2022 was still on track. The Witcher 3’s RPG elements allow countless gameplay hours, enhancing the game’s appeal to gamers across multiple platforms.

During the most recent earnings call, Kicinski stated that the enhanced version of the game would be released in the fourth quarter of 2022. CD Projekt Red merely said “soon” in a single-word social media statement using The Witcher’s official social media account. A recent video showcasing The Witcher 3 running over 100 mods on the Nvidia RTX 4090 gave gamers a peek at the visual quality that contemporary technology can produce in the game.

The game will likely be released between now and late December 2022. Since the end of the year is quickly approaching, CD Projekt Red will probably have additional information to give soon. The developer has already announced that Witcher 3: Wild Hunt owners on PS4 and Xbox One will not be required to pay extra for the enhanced version. The identical next-generation upgrade will be made available to PC players. Combat may also be improved, possibly using The Witcher series’ renowned dismemberment system.
