Developers have afforded us another live stream on Interior Armor 3.0, weapon systems, and gear tiering. It kept reactions all over with much hype, some outright furious, and some confused. Classic Destiny community antics!

Anyway, the good stuff. The livestreamed said a thing on Armor 3.0 wherein build crafting shall be given more depth. Weapon Systems were teased, and gear tiering got a partial makeover-that very much may change the meta. Kepler, the new destination, was in the mention as well. People like Suenex are hyped about this: “You guys are doing great! I’m excited to play with all these new changes,” she told.

The backlash came then. From the player’s perspective, Bungie is working on the wrong issues. SirCosta11 said it plainly, “How many new strikes and new PVP maps??” Now what the players really want to know is: what exactly are they paying for? Stephe (aka stesquatch) came out and stated, “All they’ve really shown is the ‘free’ stuff, so what am I paying for lmao.”

Then again, the gear situation. Rus_Wulf had another thing to say about “grinding for new armor and weapons while our old gear is nerfed to the extent that it becomes useless.”

Some players really are asking if The Edge of Fate is even worth the premium price. Yamabushido hammered, “It’s a premium price you’re asking for downgrading our loot?” Others like NasstyEU are trying to remain hopeful: “I love this game but a lot of the changes being made are so so bad for the game… I’m confident you guys will listen and change what needs to be changed.”

The drama began there. SleutelMo declared he quit due to the “devilish agenda” (meaning a developer appearing in the stream). This spawned another layer to the drama with SirGarvin coming back and saying, “Don’t lie you’ll still play you just hate trans people lol.” Yikes.

The road was rough for Bungie at the end of all of it. What a few felt had been fixed was broken to a chunk of the community. Pitcher_Chad said it best: “This feels more like a new season than an expansion.”

Will The Edge of Fate win over the cynics? Time will tell. One thing is for sure, though: Destiny players know how to express their concern. Whether Bungie will hear them? That’s another story.
