Earlier this week, Infinity Ward launched the Battle Pass for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, but players quickly took note of its progression system, which will, as of right now, take players quite a while to reach the top tier.

Since it just launched, it’s unclear how long it will take people to reach the top tier of Modern Warfare’s Battle Pass, but based on player estimates, it might take everyone around 200 hours to get to the top, and as you’d expect, the game’s player-base isn’t pleased with the new progression model.

Some of Modern Warfare’s player-base has said that it took them about an hour to reach the first tier, and according to the game’s Reddit page, the Battle Pass progression is based on time played, the challenges you complete, and the XP you gain. If you’re looking to climb up the tiers quicker, then some players have recommended the Spec Ops mode, but it’ll only rank you up quicker because the matches last much longer.

If you purchase the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Battle Pass, you’ll immediately get the following items.

  • 1,300 CP
  • 1 New Operator – Mara
  • 20 New Weapon Blueprints, including 2 Legendary and 10 Epic Blueprints
  • Over 30 Legendary and Epic Operator Skins
  • Dozens of additional custom cosmetics

This is the first of what’ll be several major updates that will come to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. As for when the next one will be, well, that hasn’t officially been announced, but due to leaks provided by data miners and reputable insiders, a 200-player Battle Royale mode will come to MW this coming January. But, as previously mentioned, this hasn’t been confirmed by Activision or Infinity Ward.

Also, a potential map for the 200-player Battle Royale mode was leaked last month, as it appears that the map that’ll host the mode will be a combination of Ground War and Spec Ops maps, so the field will be massive.

There have been conflicting reports about whether or not the rumored Battle Royale add on will be free or if it’ll be paid DLC. If it is due out in January of next year, then we should get information regarding the rumored mode and its details in the coming weeks.

Also, Infinity Ward will likely add more to the Battle Pass in the future, and now that players are complaining about the BP’s slow progression system, that’ll probably be tinkered with as well.
