The release date of Alpha One for Ashes of Creation will be slightly delayed. Apparently, the MMO creators were not contented with the beta test, at least in terms of scale.

In December 2018, the Ashes of Creation launched the beta testing for Apocalypse. In the last week of that month, more than 2 million visited the website, which put a huge strain on the servers. This forced the developer to go back to the drawing board.

Just last month, on February 21, the server migrated to the Amazon Web Services, which solved most of the issues. But there’s still much to be done, including the single sign-on program that will be used for the forums, website, and the launcher.

In a blog post, Steven Sharif, the creative director for the game, wrote that their stress test was done just last February 7 was a success. During that testing, they used a new infrastructure and found that the issues last December were already resolved.

In the stress test, 200 players played the game without any problem. But they have a grander ambition in their massively multiplayer online game. With that said, the target of reaching Alpha One status by the second quarter of 2019 will likely be pushed back.

The Ashes of Creation is an MMORPG that mixes the traditional and the Sandbox concepts. This means that players can create their environment at will. In this case, the imaginary medieval place of Verra.

Apart from the technical side, Intrepid Studios is also tweaking the e-commerce platform to make it more responsive. For instance, the company is migrating from Xsolla to Paypal and Stripe after hearing the feedback of customers.

This process alone “will take time.”

Sharif said they would be working hard on implementing all the changes to accommodate the testers for Alpha One. The creative director envisions around 10,000 people to test their systems for Ashes of Creation Alpha One.

Right now, however, there’s no exact date for the Ashes of Creation Alpha One. He said they would announce the new date “when we feel we are ready.” This is better than announcing a date then having to take it back later on. That will only serve to anger the gaming community.

The good news, however, is that Sharif said the Ashes of Creation Alpha One delay would be a matter of months, not years. Keep posted for more news and updates on the Ashes of Creation.
