Capcom has really been hitting its stride as of late. Their remake of Resident Evil 2 received a ton of praise, and rightfully so. It took some elements from the original and dramatically perfected them, featuring better graphics and gameplay.

The gaming company followed this amazing title up with Devi May Cry 5. Like Resident Evil 2, this game already is receiving a lot of positive reviews. It has done so well, in fact, that it’s the second best launch on PC for Capcom.

The game is flying off the charts, which isn’t surprising given how great the previous four titles are. But what makes this game different than the others? Let’s take a look.

Right out of the gate, this fifth installment in the series has perfected its combat system. It’s quite honestly one of the best fighting games you can find on the market. The mechanics are dynamic, featuring amazing sword, gun, and jumping maneuvers that will keep you entertained for hours.

Transitioning from blow to blow seems seamless, even if you don’t have much experience playing Devil May Cry games. You feel like a total beast when successfully completing a long combo session.

The main story is also captivating and told in a unique way. It centers around Dante, Nero, and a new character named V. You’re essentially thrown into a heated battle that you’re forced to lose. Then, you go back in time learning gripping details about these three characters.

They’re pitted against the demon, Urizen. He’s pretty compelling on screen and makes for some tense moments. What really stands out is the uniqueness between each of these characters. They each have a unique set of attributes and weapons that you’ll get to explore throughout the main story.

Dante is quite a joy to play with still, much like he was in the fourth installment of this series. As far as the enemies, they’re not overly difficult to beat like in the previous games. You won’t have much trouble staying alive, which helps you stay locked into the beautiful combat sequences.

As you progress through each mission, you have the chance to upgrade your characters. The sheer volume of moves is downright impressive, and there’s really no wrong choice to make.

It’s incredible to see Devil May Cry 5 have so much success since its initial launch. You’d be hard-pressed to find a bad review. Everything works, from the amazing combat to the stellar and unique level design. Capcom really knew what they were doing when making this incredible action title.
