Arma players are apparently getting fed up with the ongoing issues, especially on the PS5. Meanwhile, the official Arma Twitter account was spewing some reminders about methods of base defense. Very quickly, replies were full of complaints about bugs, mods, and bad vibes about the fate of the game.

The original tweet for @ArmaPlatform suggested that players should hold a position before rushing the objective: “Base hopping can be fast, but you can’t leave fresh captures unattended,” showing an ingame screenshot of a soldier in combat gear. However, the players’ minds were elsewhere.

Especially horror for PS5 players in terms of mods. On behalf of all PS5 players-if you could never make all of these mods happen in the first place, you should’ve never allowed them,” (@Jaysy689). Going further, several other players had to instal and reinstall mods to get them working, blaming RHS content packs specifically, @GODBLES12364830.

Many would rather prefer to deal with load times than this mod storage system. “It ain’t about load times the shit is just bugged to begin with, constant mod updates that corrupt the storage causing you to have to redownload the entire servers mods,” said @NoLimitReg__. Many others echoed the frustration, as they faced similar download loops.

Aside from those technical problems, some are angry about the game mechanics themselves. @real_bf4 was arguing the XP system forces rushing objectives rather than proper base-building: “Give me an XP incentive to do it. I want to rank up to use mortars, and the only way to do that before match end is rush objective captures.” That, in turn, creates a feedback loop of players rushing to captures bases and refusing to defend them, which in reality is the situation of which the original tweet had warned.

Not everybody is having interpretation issues. Admittedly, @matt235240 said: “I’ve been playing this game for 2 years now and I’ve never had any issues,” but his claim was not believed by several immediately. “Now I know you’re lying or exaggerating…this is the glitchiest buggiest mess of a game out there,” was the response from @tryagainvato.

That triggered some love for Vietnam ’67 for Arma Reforger, with @GraflingRaider opining that it is “fucking amazing.” That comment, however, was barely heard in the sea of complaints.

The sights are really the worst when it comes to these console players. @zofiamqin’s worst review to this point goes: “Your game is so fucking Broken on ps5 I pray the worst for all of your families.” Obviously, this is an exaggeration, and it is precisely that exaggeration that tells of the level of frustration others have reached.

The common theme that runs through all those complaints is that these players see Arma having sick untapped potential, but technical problems are holding it back. “Nothing but fucking issues with this game. Sadly, it has so much potential,” is how @Jaysy689 puts it.

With a ton of players complaining, especially on PS5, Bohemia Interactive might have to put so much effort into fixing the technical issues that players begin to walk away from the game. The current state is sapping the patience of the staunchest fans, and, no strategic advice will matter if the players don’t have a game to play.
